Cold air intake, Cat Back and Super chip recommendation (2019 TRD OffRoad

Its Camp Taco! I'm new too Tacoma World and trying to figure t out. Thanks for the welcoming this morning.

I want to do a cold air intake, cat back, and performance chip on my 2019 Tacoma with 1k miles. Any suggestions ? Forward it on if you k now any TACO Bro's that have accomplished this.

There are no chips for the Tacoma, but you can buy a tune from Orange Virus.

If you want an aftermarket CAI, as stated above these trucks come stock with a factory OEM CAI, look at AFE, S&B, Injen for very high quality CAI systems. If you buy an open filter intake system, you will have a lot more noise and that's it, and may have less power and mpgs.
I have the TRD Pro exhaust which is one piece, stainless steel, OEM, and No Drone in my DCLB.
OV tune is the best.

 

I've had the AFE intake kit for over a year now. Just know that it will increase your engine noise and there is a medium pitch hum at 2k rpm that can get annoying. It also gets a tad loud when really hitting it hard. For example, I have a dashcam that activates on "event" detection. I set it off every time the engine hits around 3.5k rpm. Even on it's lowest sensitivity... So just be aware.

 

I have the TRD intake and exhaust on my 17' DCSB OR, also the OVT tune 92; and I run the ECT button on at all times. The TRD parts and the tune make a slight improvement, but really only at higher rpms. Supposedly there are several superchargers coming out soon, but pricey, and even a turbo system in the works by OVT.

 

skip the performance chip and go right for the ov twin turbo kit.

 

For the intake, I picked Volant over other brands because the airbox has a clear lid for easy inspection. The extra opening on the Volant airbox is round so it's easy to cap off for dusty off-roading or water crossings.

K&N sells an intake pipe kit that deletes the stock resonator but keeps the stock airbox. It's about $100 cheaper than other CAI kits while maintaining most of the benefits (i.e. louder sound).

I think you guys scared him away.

 

1. Cold air. Stock, trd or afe
2. Catback. There are not that many but if sound is not an issue then go ahead but there is not much gain unless you do the catalytic converter. You might loose power on the low end without going full header to exhaust.
3. Ovtune is the only tuner so far.

Dunno what you looking for but if you want power with noise then do the full header to catalyic to exhause and tune. If your planning to go bigger tire then save for regear and tune(best option so far). If you want ton of power then wait for the urd supercharger or ovtune twinturbo.

 

After break in period and your're so angry about how your auto transmission in your Tacoma sucks, and you create a thread about how you want to get rid of your Taco, buy the OVTune. That's of course if you have an AT. If you have a MT then carry on I guess.
