Happy that I got the opportunity to use 4 Lo this morning. Had a blast going up some deep sandy hills (about 30% according to the uber accurate truck *scoff*)! Still have the warning stickers in my door like a nub.



Super impressed with the traction on these tires in deep sand. This branch smacked the hell out of my roof, so I opted to back down the hill and take a path to the right of this ravine:

 

Have you installed the pace edwards ultragroove cover yet? If so how do you like it?

 

Being built as we speak. The retailer drop ships them. I should have it late next week.

 

Got a replacement console safe today and it showed up undamaged this time. Install was a breeze (total of 6 plastic screws and 2 10mm bolts). It fits exactly what it was intended to and has cutouts for cords as well as maintains access to the USB ports in the center console. HIGHLY recommend this for those looking for a bolt-in solution. Genuine Toyota P/N 00016-35874.

Installed! Six plastic screws and some trim clips hold the center console inner to the armrest and four screws hold the armrest to the hinge:

Very nice! You're seriously making me look at a UpTop Overland Bravo. Mind if I ask if you've had any rubbing on the trails with the 285's? I keep going back and forth between getting the 265/75's or just saying screw it and get the 285's. How's the daily driving on them too? Keep the updates coming! I'm anxious to see it once you get your Pace Edwards installed.

 

My gas mileage plummeted, but it's still very drivable for a daily. I was fully articulating the back today and had no issues with rub. YMMV. I'll keep posting as I continue to burn cash!

 

Got home today, and to my surprise found this along with some Amazon boxes waiting for me:



Popped it open and started installing the Pace Edwards UltraGroove Metal cover (Model KMTA10A38). Pulled open the big box with my buddy and threw up the reel on jack stands to get it just above bed level. Everything was well marked (i.e. cab side, tailgate side)



The side rails just tip into a slot on the side canister, slide forward towards the cab (with the canister remaining static), and are secured from the bottom with one each 1/4"-20 screw each. Once everything was lined up and seals on the tailgate were verified, I marked the front of the rails (on the cab side) with masking tape and pulled the whole assembly aft.





Then install the gasket along the center of the front of the bed and slide the entire assembly forward. Once the canister and side rails are realigned with the masking tape, set the top cover in place and verify it mates on the underside with the foam gasket.



Once that was done, I crawled into the bed and installed the hardware loosely.



I fully closed the cover and REALLY crawled into the bed this time to tighten everything down.



After opening the cover back up, I marked the aft portion of the bed insert (8" above the floor and 11/16" from the seam where it meeds the body), drilled a pilot, then used a 5/8" step drill to open it up for the rear drain lines on both sides.







Then drilled out the factory drain holes at the front of the bed on the left and right side using the same 5/8" bit. The drain lines took some finagling to get installed into the canister, once they were in, give them a twist and run the drains down into the holes you drilled at the front of the bed. FYI, one sits right atop the muffler and the other atop the fuel tank. I recommend using a few zip ties on the right side to hold it to the frame away from the muffler. Also, if you fiddle with the one on top of the fuel tank, you can get it to bend enough so that it discharges off the side of the fuel tank rather than pools on top.

Once everything was finalized, I threw on the canister cover, screwed it down and voila!



This cover looks freaking amazing and operates like a champ. I'll post an updated review down the line, but my initial impressions are very good. Thanks, Leer!

If anybody wants the inserts for the front cupholders and tray, rear cupholders, phone bay (under the climate controls), and center console, let me know. THEY'RE ALL FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION! Otherwise, I'm just throwing the little pieces of rubber out. They're laser cut and fit perfectly.

Raptor lights installed (poorly as I have no intention of keeping them installed. The roof lighting is the backlight on my Baja S8.



Overall approach to running the wiring was ziptie it randomly and often to fixed objects.



Crimped on some terminals to the anemic wiring. I actually had to strip back twice the amount and fold the wire back on itself to get a good crimp. Sad.



Wired into the same circuit as the S8 backlighting so they would trigger at the same time. The current draw is very small on both, I'm not worried about it. Although it looks less than great. Oh well, it's temporary-ish.



The color has zero tone to it. It's just.. blah... like a c-list celebrity.

 

Updated the horrible interior bulbs with an LED kit I found on Amazon. Love the fact that I can see more than an inch in front of my face before my dark morning commute. I apologize for not taking a full before picture, guys and gals. However, I managed to snag one of the visors "before." MAJOR change.

 

Bit the bullet and got a tailgate seal today. Installation was a breeze. Only "instruction" for placement was two pictures of the sides of the bed and nothing for the bottom.

Just got my Quick Fists installed into the Bravo rack today. Purchased the sliding T-nuts direct from the manufacturer and got some security screws to boot. Add in an axe and shovel and I'm just about ready to rock and roll. I'll probably slide the head of the axe aft so it rests on the crossbar and I don't risk it banging into my roof. Already used the shovel today in the terribly sandy soil around here.

 

Dammit I need to stop looking at army green pros or I’m gonna end up going to find one..

Put a keen eye on the SSO when you get it as a few of them have been reported to be slightly bent in shipping (including mine). Wasn't a big deal though.

 

Noted. It has happened to every item I've had delivered via freight here. The carriers around here don't seem to care at all. Spoke to them last week and I'm like 60 in the queue for fab. I need to decide today if I want the 20" light bar and the cutouts or not. I'm still on the fence about it and the S8 on my rack is hella bright, so I doubt I even need it.
