The friggen calipers are over engineered to begin with. Single cylinder calipers have been stopping much heavier trucks than my twerpy Tacoma for years. It’s not a Ferrari for Christ sake

So on the way home I drove in 2wd, hubs unlocked, vibration present.
    4wd, hubs unlocked, vibration present.
    4wd, hubs locked, vibration gone.
    2wd, hubs locked, vibration gone.
    2wd, hubs unlocked, vibration present.
2wd, right hub locked and left hub unlocked, vibration present.
2wd, left hub locked and right hub unlocked, vibration gone.
So I have narrowed it down to the drivers side hub as the culprit.
I will take it apart tomorrow, clean it, grease it, reassemble it then take it for a test drive.

Solid freaking diagnostic work my man. This is why attention to detail is important. Curious as to what you find

Check the comment I pinned for that video. I share the response ECGS gave me when I told them the problems we had with the extraction tool. They told me they were in the process of redesigning the extraction tool and it was available shortly after the release of our video. So, there's no more issues with the tool.

In that hub, there is the needle bearing and the brass bushing. I wonder if either of them in your hub are worn out. Let's hope not, especially the brass bushing. You can get the needle bearing but unfortunately nobody is currently making the brass bushing. Off Road Solutions use to make both but they stopped making the bushing. I talked with them not too long ago and the guy I talked to said they might start having them made again this year. But, for the time being, if the bushing is bad, you have to replace the whole hub which really sucks because then you end up destroying the bearing getting the hub out so you'll have to replace the bearing and the other associated parts while you're at it like the bearing snap ring and the seals. https://www.offroadsolutions.com/products/category/drivetrain/

All back together, replaced the roller bearing with an ECGS bushing and new seal while I was in there. Took the hub apart and cleaned, inspected, lubed and reassembled it.
I don't know if I found the issue, but the center ring gear in the hub had old grease and was really tight when I removed it.

Drove 40 mile to work tonight with no issues. I have my fingers crossed that it is fixed.

So, by the sound of it, it was the Aisin locking hub being the culprit and simply re-greasing it fixed the issue?

So far so good, drove 40 miles without an issue.
But that ECGS bushing was fun to install, thanks for the video, it helped a lot.

That's good to hear. Glad the video helped with the ECGS bushing install.

We're making some money but nothing to brag about. It's still nowhere remotely close to compensating us for the time we put in but that's ok because our primary goal is to help people. The money we make is just a fringe benefit. Thanks for the kind words. In reality, our favorite form of payment is hearing back from people letting us know one of our videos helped them out. The ability to help people literally all over the world is pretty cool. I've had online conversations with people in lots of different countries. Most of our audience is in the U.S., Canada, Australia and Mexico but it's always cool to find out somebody from a country, like Greece, used one of our videos.

    Happy Wrenching!
