Sold my 2002 a few months ago. Had 325k of mostly trouble free miles. A couple mechanical issues last year on vacations got me worried about what else might happen. Used market is super hot in Socal for Gen1s so I sold it for $5k. Only paid $12k for it 10 years ago with 100k miles on it. :)

Got into a 2019 OR DCLB. My main hesitation was size. The Gen1 was perfect size for city living. The new truck is a full 2ft longer than my old one and around 8" wider. It does fit in my garage, but barely. Was concerned how difficult it would be to maneuver into parking spots since I live in an urban area. So far it hasn't been an issue but when I go to areas where parking is already tough, it will be. I go out of town 2-3 weekends a month often with a moto and mountain bikes so the long bed is very nice to have. The truck is a lot nicer to drive as well. The old Gen1 was starting to feel pretty gutless especially on long mountain grades.

I do miss the old truck but don't regret buying the new one.

I’m backwards. I bought a 2019 MT. I love the look and tech but I found myself looking at the first gens a lot. I drive 30 miles each way for work. I decided to buy a first gen as my daily driver. Love the simplicity of it. If it’s still in good condition, keep the first gen.

I sold my 04 to my son when I bought my 16. It's been a great little truck and at the time had been my favorite.

After 4 years with the 16, I'm so happy I made the switch. I still enjoy driving the little truck from time to time, feels like a little toy compared to the 16 but I dont miss it.

I went from a ‘00 single cab 2.7l 4cyl MT with 150,000 miles bought a ‘19 V6 AT in August love the new ride quality and tech and the double cab. But I miss my old truck, my wife would not let me keep the ‘00 said we did not need to trucks. She was right, but if it was just me I would have two trucks. So if it is an option have two trucks, twice the fun!

Great looking trucks but I would be mad if my son stole my wheels ;)

My lady liked the blacked out showroom model, so all that stuff is on it's way. Gonna need some hints on how to go about re-badging

He wasnt a fan of the old Ivan Stewart wheels, said it looked like an old man's truck.

This is what I had (I know, I know, shouldn't have gotten rid of it) It served me well and was very capable, many many trips. But it was time for a new Toy. If this 2020 is half the fun, I will be very happy. Building hopefully wont be too far off.wheelin.jpg lftfrnt.jpg

    Sorry for your loss.

My housemate got a 2020 TRD pro and says he auto seems to be "fixed".

    I wish I had your garage/barn.

Did I see this on Craigslist about 5 months ago?

    Stock for now.. maybe
    I upgraded from a

    1995 ext. Cab 4cl auto 2wd
    To a
    2015 access cab v6 4x4 manual

Recently and could be happier so far. The 95 has 250,000 on it and runs great I just needed 4wd and small towing capability. At first I thought I went to new because I was worried about scratching it on back roads and such but got over that, it's a truck! Also the paint, body , int. plastic, ect... aren't made like they used to be (dents and scratches easy). Very happy though

I didn't sell my old truck!

Nice truck, enjoy! Should've kept older one, couldn't have gotten much for trade it. I think I might give my 95 to a friend in need and keep it close to family

I had a ‘92 extended cab 4x4 manual with that same 4 banger and loved that little puppy. Didn’t realize what I had at the time when I traded ‘up’ for a 2002 Dakota. The Dakota outperformed on all measurable specs other than ‘fun time’. To date I’ve regretted selling every one of my Toyotas: 1992 pickup, 2004 Tundra, 2007 FJ.

Well, I am not even thinking of selling my 99, not after I put new battery, shocks, tires and hub caps lol. This one is going to be my son's in one year time when he gets his license. He is in to mountain biking so it'll be a perfect truck for him and his bike :)

89 was definitely a fun little truck though.
