Had this show up yesterday. Can't wait to mount it up tomorrow!

Huge thanks to @CBI Offroad Fab and @Truck Brigade for getting me my bumper so fast! I ordered it through Truck Brigade and was originally alittle dubious about using a middle man to order such a long lead part but they were really great to work with and their flat rate shipping on bumpers saved me a few hundred in freight. I will definitely be hitting them up again when I'm ready to order skids.

I originally ordered the bumper with just the center hoop but after submitting the order to CBI they called up Truck Brigade and said they had what I wanted except with full hoops in stock and that they'd upgrade me to it at no additional charge if I didn't want to wait the 16+ week lead time. I was actually debating whether I should've gone full hoops so I said hell yeah I'll take it! I'm really glad I went with the full hoops, it looks even meaner in person.

I can't say enough good things about both @CBI Offroad Fab and @Truck Brigade. From submitting my order to bumper in my driveway only took 9 days! Maybe a new record? I was mentally prepared to wait for months so I still can't really believe its here!

Congrats! Thats definitely a record turn around time for anything armor related, and especially something from CBI. Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased with my CBI products. Theres just now hiding the fact that their lead times are typically some of the longest in the biz. I too have had very good experiences with @Truck Brigade

Yeah I was REALLY lucky. I'm guessing part of it is with the 3rd gens having been out for a few years at this point the 2nd gen stuff isn't flying off the shelves as fast.

Thanks for the feedback. Put in my order for a HC rear with dual swing out through @Truck Brigade yesterday! I don’t expect it to show up in 9 days but as long as it’s close to the 12 week lead time on CBI’s website I’ll be happy.

After slamming my stock bumper on a number of rocks on my last trip, I have my eye on the CBI Bushmaster 2 high-clearance rear bumper with dual swing-outs and all the goodies.

Could anyone (or especially @CBI Offroad Fab) help me with the following questions, relating to the fact I sometimes need to haul plywood or drywall with this truck, so I need to be able to drive with the gate down... Pictures would be super helpful!!!

    1. Can I still fit the spare tire in the factory location if I want, or does the bumper protrude into this space more than the factory hitch? I have a 33" 285 down there, and it BARELY fits with the factory hitch.

1B. Does it look really goofy to have a tire hanging down there? That's the impression I got looking at photos of the Brute Force high-clearance bumper, but I can't find any photos of the bushmaster with a spare under the bed. The bushmaster appears to sit a bit lower than the BF but it's hard to tell. This isn't my top priority, but would factor into the decision.

    2. Can I drive with the swing-outs locked open? What if I remove the tire and jerry cans, so it's just the arms? If not, is it reasonable to install and remove them several times per year?

    3. Can someone post a photo of the hi-lift mounted on a dual swing-out? I'm not sure how it fits on these.

    Thanks!

No, unfortunately, the spare will no longer fit in the stock location with the bushmaster bumper.

We don't recommend driving with the arms open. the pins that lock the swing gates open are not sufficiently strong to hold the arms in place while moving.
It is possible to remove the arms but again not recommended. The arms are not designed to come off and on the bumper.

    3. Can someone post a photo of the hi-lift mounted on a dual swing-out? I'm not sure how it fits on these.

    Thanks for answering my questions!

I can't yet swallow the pill of losing my under-the-bed spare tire, or not being able to drive with the tailgate down. But y'all make an awesome looking rear bumper that I hope to own someday!

I'm not holding my breath, but if you ever develop a product that accommodates either of these constraints, let me know. I'll be your first customer!

Thanks! I searched long and hard for such a picture... I guess my google skills are lacking.

It looks... goofy, but perhaps better than other high-clearance bumper options. Still the best looking option IMO.

I wish there were more consensus as to the spare tire fitting. I've already got a 285 75/16 crammed up there behind the stock tow-package hitch. It's a tight fit, and I had to bend some metal, but it works. If it's as simple as these modifications to use the CBI, that would be great. But if it would require major frame or body modifications to fit the tire, then I'll hold out for a more favorable option.

Yeah I know what you mean. I too would prefer a larger spare underneath while rocking a hc rear but every manufacturer designs their hitches into that space a little differently. Obviously manufacturers will know best but it appears to be a case by case things. These two build are rocking bruteforce bumpers, but even with their integrated hitches have fit larger spares.

Anyone on this thread got a body lift with their Moab 2.0? I threw a Toytec 1" BL on my 2015 to eliminate some tire rub that the CMC and cranking up the coil-overs didn't. I've got a Moab on order and I'm wondering if there is enough adjustment to squeeze the gap closed or if I am going to have to fab up something to push the bumper up. Would appreciate any advise...

There is not a lot of up and down adjustment to close the gap for that 1" BL. You will have to modify the mounts on the bumper to close up that gap. I don't think you will be able to get the full 1" but you should be able to close it up enough that it isn't noticeable.

Cool. Once we figure it out I'll post some pics. Thanks for the info.

Almost 5 years after installing, my license plate light went out. Replacement is an Optronics LP31CS, available at the local O’Reilly store for $5. I post this in case others are looking. Save you having to call CBI to ask.
