Congratz! Enjoy the truck stock before modding it! I regret doing that.....

Thanks! I plan to keep it relatively stock for a bit while I save up funds for a few things. I probably won't touch the suspension for a while, but might consider upgrading some components down the road. For now, it'll be limited to light offroading, camping/snowboarding trips and trailering the motorcycle to the track.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Good looking ride! If you want any help or got questions regarding mods, towing, or finding deals just let me know.

Received my black TACOMA inlays from Runnin 4 Tacos. Decided on the plastic rather than vinyl stickers. IMO, it should have come from the factory like this.

Wheels and tires are usually one of the first things on the list with any new vehicle.

These are Rocktrix RT107’s in 17x9 -12 with 265/70/17 Wildpeaks. I couldn’t decide on the matte black or matte bronze so I went with both. I think I’m liking the matte bronze now that I see them installed. It looks great against the cement grey!

How are the quality of the wheels? Just ordered 5 of them in bronze. Pretty cheap but seem like a newer company as far as Toyota wheels. I did notice they make Jeep wheels and there’s nothing but good reviews on them

Quality and finish is great, but they're a bit of a chore to clean if you're the type that's worried about that!

I work for an aftermarket wheel manufacturer for a living and I know the guys that work for Rocktrix. They've been doing Jeep wheels for a while now, but since the introduction of the Taco wheels, they've been moving like wildfire! I'm sure we'll be seeing more Rocktrix wheels on Tacoma World here soon.

Post up some pictures of your RT107's when you get them on. The bronze on your black truck is going to look killer!

Thanks! I think I like the Bronze a little more. Once my schedule is a little less hectic we'll be going out to do a photoshoot. Can't wait to get some professional level photos done!

We last left off with the new wheels and tires. The next mod was the AFE Momentum GT intake. The install was pretty straight forward and it added some nice sound. I won’t say that it added any noticeable power but it sounds good and looks bitchin!

I ended up adding the air scoop and throttle body spacer later on. An AFE employee who happened to be a customer of mine sent them to me along with a laundry list of other cool swag. Again, no discernible increase in power but I feel like the throttle might be a little more responsive. I did clean the throttle body while it was removed, so maybe that has something to do with it also.

The next order of business was to remove the tonneau cover. As much as I loved the BakFlip, I wanted something that I could camp in. After months of stalking every classified website known to man with no luck, I ordered a SnugTop Rebel from Discount Camper Shells in Long Beach. I spec’d it out with sliding windoors on both sides, removeable front window, Yakima roof tracks and a pro lock that’s connected to the key fob.

Fast forward about 6 weeks and it’s finally installed! So far, I’m very happy with it. The color match is spot on, the build quality is great and the install was smooth. I can’t wait to camp in it soon!

How are your Rocktrix holding up? I found a really nice set at a really good price for my inbound 21 Sport. Any issues at all? I'm more of a "buy once, cry once" but these are almost too good to pass up, which has me thinking they might be too good to be true. You seem to be the only one on the board currently, that has a set.

Hope you had a great Christmas!!

They’ve been great. This is the second set I’ve had. I replaced a set of their RT107’s with a set of their new RT111’s. Not for any particular reason—I just liked the way they looked. They’re load rated appropriately for off-roading and I do plenty of that. The best part is that if I fuck up bad enough to destroy one, my wallet isn’t going to cry about it. You’ll find a few posts on their IG of my truck in its various states.

Great, thanks for the info. I'm more highway miles than off-road (which is why I went with the Sport), and since they advertise them as "racing" wheels, looks like they'll do fine on the road.

Thanks again. I'm gonna go with them. Nothing to lose really. Like you said, my wallet wont cry about it. Just checked on the RT111's. Nice!!

Looking at the 111's, I'm actually liking the 110's also. They almost look like the Pro rims. Says it comes with a -12 offset. Any issues with that on yours? I'm adding a 3in lift, and would like to go up to 285's, but not sure if they will rub. Also says the rim is 9in which is 1/2 inch narrower than stock.

That's what my RT111's are, but I'm running a 265/70/17. On my TRD Pro which has a 1" lift compared to the other models (I believe), I got rubbing in the front, but only on one side. If you're doing a 3" lift, I'd imagine you would be fine. FWIW, my rubbing is pretty light and only when entering steep driveways or doing u-turns in a hurry. It occurs a little more often off road obviously, but that doesn't sound like it will be much of an issue for you.

Nice setup. Does Rocktrix provide any discounts for forum members? I have a stock 21 SR (16") and considering the RT107's with 265/70R17. It's more of a daily driver and not sure I want them sticking out too much past stock fender.

Will there be any issues or anything else I need to do?

Assuming these are the correct lugs for me per RockTrix site:
24pcs 12x1.5 Lug Nuts Black Open ET Style Cone Conical Seat (Extended Thread)

    Thanks

I just noticed on the website, It says the RockTrix will take up to a 32 inch tire, but I'm putting a 33 on them. Hope that isnt an issue.
