Whoever set up this forum, thank you!

Sixteen days ago, five us of bailed out of the remains of my white 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 salvage title double cab long bed 4wd after hitting a black adult Angus cow. It was just dark, lots of traffic so low beams on, suddenly cow silhouette just in front of the truck and BAM. We rolled to a stop, airbags deployed, passenger window shattered, windshield warped and fractured but didn't chip and drop. DPS three cars back looking for reported cow by road. Passengers cleared on scene and taken home by friends who recognized me standing by the wreck.

Insurance paid out and yesterday purchased a white 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 salvage title double cab long bed 4wd. Driving home up the highway on steep mountain grade huge plume of smoke out the back. I pulled over and ATF is raining down. No dash ATF temp light so I carried on to the next gas station to look for the ATF dip-stick. I just aged myself to you all right there. Since it ran, I drove on into town and right to my local garage. They got it right up in the air, right back down and out of the bay after draining out three extra quarts of ATF. Went on a 300 mile run today for work A-OK.

Coming home tonight, the low beams are pointing right in front of the bumper. This forum rocks and I am headed out now to tweak that.

Here is what I can add. Check with your insurance agent about "Medical Protection Coverage." If you don't have this and you hit a large animal on fenced range highway (no fault to the driver), your passengers are NOT covered.

Thanks again to the Moderating team for doing what you do, Gem

I’ll be honest, I read that as “anus” at first.

Hello. I’d like to hear more about the salvage title vehicle you are buying. I assume you typically get a good deal and it’s planned out for you? Sounds like there are major issues at times. What was the fix for the tranmisssion?

:fistbump:Welcome to TW sucks you had that happen I’ve been there. Invest in a good front bumper. More importantly I’m glad to hear everyone walked away.
