    Three of us have ours installed. Waiting on the others to finish the engine builds or get the time.

    @mightytacoman is the only one with the s/c camshafts, and belt installed, running around breaking hearts. ;). He can share his thoughts. With the stroker build being done simultaneously, it is hard to compare before and after though.

    Does anyone know the grade of steel that these cams are made from? I wanted to ask Keil but his office is still closed for the holidays.

    Reason being there's some -35 degree weather coming this week, and I'm paranoid about the steel's DBTT. I'm sure it's totally fine, but was hoping someone knows so my mind can be at ease.

    So I no there was talk about the exhaust cam gears not being needed with cams. So does the new cam lobs leave the valves open the extra 3 degrees? Or can you just not run them cuz of interference?

    Word was we can run them, it'll just shift the powerband towards lower rpms. I am still debating splitting the difference some and maybe do a 2° or 1.5° retard and trying it.

    Ok. I wish someone on here had a performance shop so we could see some dyno numbers with different mods. Like just doing cam gears.

    That mechanical exhaust retarding typically should move the power band upwards. However, with the variable of how much in conjunction of what specific lobe profiles chosen, will be where and how much. Also taking into account valve to piston clearance with said exhaust lobe lift/duration.

    If only I wasn't in CA this would be a great addition to my build. At least with my exhaust I can swap out for smog and adjust the ecu. Is it possible to tune more for torque without pushing emissions too high?

    Awesome! I got a Magnuson SC in Nov with a clear smog in Dec and next week I get my LT put on. Want to add some more power after as the bigger tires and extra weight from other overlanding add ons will suck some power. I'll talk with the people (TE Motorsports) who did my SC about an HP Tuners build. Fingers crossed

    Keil got back to me about the temperatures. He said the cams are made from cast iron and the company that casts the blanks for Kelford also casts for many companies' OEM camshafts - much of those machines are used in cold weather. So, it should be fine. Also, it was quite cold yesterday when I started the truck after work and I didn't snap any camshafts or valve springs. So, there's our proof.
