    business expense :plane:
honestly they are much more affordable than people realize IMHO
this has been much cheaper to maintain than previous Audi, Benz and BMW vehicles owned

oh yea and this happened, so make it easier to sell

Not to high Jack the thread but what maintenance expenses did you run into with you Audi outside routine maintenance? I have been eyeing a 2014 or 2015 RS5
    Nice ride btw.

first and foremost I had multiple terrible experiences with the audi dealership service department and finding a qualified independent shop worth a damn was again a failure for me.
If I had the time and space I would have tackled much more myself and perhaps not have hated on the car as much as I did...
It being her daily driver I wanted to service at the dealer for the loaner car and peace of mind though that was just hopes and smoke in the end...
I had my porsche shop do some services but that was a huge mistake in the end, just because you are good with porsche does not mean you are good with audi...
The final straw was having my porsche mechanic do the transmission and differentials... what should have been routine service was a fiasco and ultimately left me disgruntled with the car.
    - the car had a tendency to work its way out of perfect alignment on the regular
    - it would eat up brake pads yearly, rotors not as much but doing pads only on these cars seems to always cause annoying brake squealing
    - it killed tires with uneven wear, again just about a yearly thing albeit knowing these have more camber and toe than a typical daily driver
    - oil consumption seemed to be worse than commercially acceptable in my opinion
    - it is very well possible our transmission issue was the mechatronics unit in the end, but I was fed up and the trade in deal was good enough for me to change it up.
    - she put 95% of the miles on the car, if it was for me not her perhaps I could have taken better care of it who knows
    - the transmission doesn't like the below freezing and really needs to be warmed up, something she rarely did...
    - the sound system was great, but the plastic interior would rattle like no other...
    - we got the car cpo, I have it in my mind the car was hit and never fixed correctly, just fixed enough to pass the criteria of most drivers...
    - I kinda expect this car to be as reliable as my toyota and better than my toyota all at the same time, wishful thinking
    - we live in the north east and this car has seen it all on top of living outside throughout our tenure

also worth mentioning, we had the b8.5 s5 not the rs5, so a few things are different between these two so not sure everything I had difficulties with would compare for you. The transmission is the same but the brakes, motor and suspension all differ...

I talk poorly about the car in the end but gotta take that with a grain of salt, but to be honest it is a very fun car
the seats and steering wheel fantastic, the sound system very nice, the power was great an plenty of fun, it is a lot of car and better than 75% of the vehicles seen on the road IMHO, we had one that was fully loaded with all the options.

I compare the car often with porsche and that also is not exactly fair. The audi wanted pads and tires easily every 25k miles, the porsche easily double that. Audi oil changes twice as frequent as the porsche requires. Overall I think although the porsche has a higher msrp, the audi eats that difference in maintenance. The porsche service department seems to be much better on all levels when compared to the audi department, as fas as my experience I know relationship goes a long was with some of those crooks.

the rs5 is a very cool car and I did consider it as well and though I love it, for me the 911 was a better fit and the macan so far has been a better suit for us over the s5

the thing is for her she still loves audi and still misses the s5 and when asked, I think she would opt for the s5 over the macan...

bump for anyone interested in the 911, the car is also listed on the PCA classifieds as we are long time porsche club of america members

i suppose to answer your question better, I never really had issues outside of the routine maintenance....
my biggest issues would have been finding a quality mechanic, buying one new and not previously owned/crashed, and perhaps some dose of user error here...

I have thought about it before as I do waste/spend a lot of time on their drooling over the cool and fun stuff

never really considered posting this one there though wasn't too interested in paying fees as a seller and not sure the condition qualifies either, I feel like this is more of a driver and less of a garage queen. this car has been daily driven in all the north easts four seasons as well it has been parked outside for the last 5 years and has suffered a fair amount of acorn dings on the roof & sunroof
