I’ve got the same mount from StiffyMount. I think they’re great and minimalistic. The magnets hold the phone well. So far I really like the mount.

one thing about it is it comes off easily. Did you apply 3M adhesive on yours to prevent it from sliding?

I haven't applied any tape but the thought did cross my mind.

It always stays put with my phone mounted. Only time it moves is when I bump it with my hand or something.

Yeah that’s the only time mine moves around. I don’t want the residue on the trim but I also don’t like the idea of trim getting inadvertently scratched.

Scosche Magnet. Works great and just fits perfectly.

It's not a mount really, but could be used as one. It's used to hold what we in the wireless/engineering field call an MTP, or a Mobile Test Platform, or a phone. Well, the prototype phone before it looks like the real phone in your pocket. We attach that thing to our lab bench, and attach the MTP/phone and then hook up all the cables and wires, and then run a bunch of tests. It has a long strong bendable cable that can bend in any shape and it's held quite strong, and can hold a heavy phone. I took one from work to take a picture to post here as a joke. Here's a similar model. It's very helpful at work. My real phone mount is also in the same picture in the top corner, it's a magnetic mount called steelie. You can see a steel ball inside the steering wheel. Here's how it looks like if you want to see better pictures. Like how steelie has a low profile and is small and simple and out of the way without taking space in the interior or making have that in your face look, and tucked away in a small corner.

What is involved in installing the Hondo mount? Can't find instructions anywhere.

I just installed my Scosche Magic Mount Pro in this exact spot. An affordable cell phone mount that works like a charm on 3rd generation Tacoma’s. Good bye suction cup phone mounts that eventually fall of the windshield.

Did your mount track came with that bottom black metal part?

Yes This is the most sturdiest one that I have found , it actually has braces in the back of it . I had the taco garage ddm before this and it moved around a little too much for me.https://expeditionessentials.com/

I’ve had a Scosche Mount on my windshield for 2+ years now. The new cups with micro suctions built into them are great.
