My 2013 Tacoma has 100K miles and the ride is starting to "loosen" up and be less firm. Anypne have any do it your self thoughts or ideas on how to get back to the newer truck feel from a ride perspective - tighten things up???

@Taco Friday what model is your truck, as in, what's the stock suspension? Varies across models from the showroom...

As has already been mentioned, new shocks - especially if you still have the originals in there- will make a big difference. But shocks only affect dampening. If your springs (spring rate) is too low, you may want higher rate springs. This is especially true in the rear springs on Tacomas. I opted to add Timbrens (think of them as progressive rate bump stops) to my rear springs and they made a huge difference - particularly when I'm carrying anything in the bed or towing a trailer.

If it's still all stock (no bumpers or anything added) then your suspension is simply worn out.

@Taco Friday, Don't know if you're replacing the SR5 OEM std stuff or Bilsteins for a TRD, he's being modest but you oughtta talk to @Crikeymike about Dobinsons. You can upgrade over stock without altering the other components of your rig, modest lift but leave everything but the shocks and springs alone. That's the route my SR5 will be going. Increased capability without saws or welders getting involved. Should tighten things up nicely.

Thanks everyone for replies. sorry was away on a family trip - my truck is just the basic 4WD double cab so SR5. Original OEM still on it both front and rear. So Ill start with shocks on rear and see where that leads. Any suggestions on a brand/model? I've changed shocks on Tacomas in the past so am familiar with the process but never springs - how difficult is that(suppose I shuda watched UTUBE first there)

    Thanks again.

The rear springs are junk on Tacomas and there are recalls on them if you haven't done that yet. Then if you haul or tow OME Dakars and new shocks are the way to go.
Try new free replacement Toyota springs first - many posts on them found with a search and read the TSB text too.
