The current Nissan Frontier is not a bad vehicle by any means, and certainly is not unreliable or poorly built; It's biggest issue is that the current model is woefully outdated. The original Frontier, which in itself was a bit dated at the time of its debut because it was based on the older Hardbody trucks, was produced from the 1998 to 2004 model years; That's only six years...

The current Frontier has been in production since 2005! Fifteen years!

I just had to post this one that I found online because it clearly has alloys from an older Toyota pickup or T4R!

The same friend's parents had a blue 2008 Nissan Versa that they bought new from the same dealer (O'Neil Nissan), and they loved that car. My friend's dad special ordered it in that color blue, with the upgraded sound system and no sunroof; My friend's dad drives a lot for work, so the Versa was pushing a 100K miles by 2014. For this reason, they decided to trade it for something new. My friend's parents test drove a new Versa and were thoroughly unimpressed; My friend's mom referred to it as a piece of shit...

My friend's mom disliked the new Versa because it was underpowered, and had a cheap plastic interior; They ended up trading the '08 Versa for a new 2014 Ford Focus SE, which ended up being a piece of shit in its own right, and which they traded for the 2018 Rogue last summer.

One of my best friends bought a used 2006 Nissan Maxima SL in 2010, with about 38K miles on the clock; That Maxima was seriously one of the best cars ever in every way possible...

It had ICE COLD A/C that would numb your skin on even the hottest days, it had a factory Bose stereo system with a 6-CD changer and cassette player that absolutely cranked (it didn't have an AUX input, but we could plug iPods into the tape deck through the use of a cassette adapter), and it was very comfortable to ride in on long trips (we took it to the Jersey Shore on the 4th of July once), among other things! That Maxima had absolutely no mechanical issues; My friend drives a lot for work, and the Maxima had almost 170K miles on it when traded it for a 2013 Altima in the spring of 2017. His biggest reason for trading in the Maxima was that Maxima required premium fuel. About a month ago, my friend traded the Altima for a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe, because the Altima had 92K on it and he was worried about the CVT failing.

I worked as a detailer at a large car dealership for ten months (hated it), and I can tell you from experience that Nissans (and Infinitis) have among the cheapest paint in the industry! The paint on Nissans is so soft that it scratches easily, and many of the brand new Nissans we got in required a full buffing before delivery to the customer.

Nissan's partnership with Ford in the 1990s resulted in a decent and competitive minivan...

The first generation Altima (1993-2001) was probably one of the most boring vehicles not only produced by Nissan, but in history!

Anybody remember the Nissan Vanette/C22? CLICK HERE for the full story; These were sold in the United States, simply as the "Nissan Van", from 1986 to 1989...

Nissan had to install a larger engine in American-spec vans to accommodate American requirements like highway driving and air-conditioning; This van was never designed for such a large engine, and every single van was recalled when engines started catching fire due to overheating...

Sadly, the majority of these cool-looking vans were bought back by Nissan and crushed by 1995, and very few remain today :(

Just about everyone I've talked to who owns or has owned a base model 2013-2019 Nissan Sentra absolutely hates it; They think the cars are boring and cheaply made; The only good thing about this generation of Sentra, at least in my opinion, is that a backup camera became standard on all models for the 2017 model year...
