Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and looking for information on the titled radio. My ride is a 2014 Tacoma SR5 with 68K miles. For the last few months the screen on the radio has been flickering. The dealer did a software upgrade that did not help. Today the radio appeared to have lost power and is now dead. I have checked the fuse (#25/20A) and it is good. I would check the connectors/cables but don't know how to pull the unit without destroying the dash. Per one of the threads I found this number on the lower right hand side of the case - 57090. Is this a common problem?
Any tips/pointers would be appreciated. I bought this truck because of the outstanding service I got from a 2002 Camry that gave me 250K miles of trouble free driving. This Tacoma is not keeping up.
    Thanks

Unfortunatly the radios are the weak point in Toyota's fleet. It is likely frozen, I would welcome this as an opertunity to upgrade to a better unit with andriod auto/carplay.

I change about 1 radio every 2 weeks on Toyotas. Updating them prior to failure usually helps, but once it goes black it doesn't come back.

To take the radio out, you need to pop out the heater/AC controls. This panel is just snapped in and if you pry up on one of the bottom corners it should just pop out. In behind the controls there are four 10mm bolts that need removing. After removing them just pull the radio straight out. If you do a google search there are videos of how to do it although they might be early type of radios but they all come out the same way.

Thank you. Guess I'll start researching a new radio.

Worth a try: with the ignition key in the "on" position, press and hold the power/volume knob for several seconds. Normally, this will result in a "soft reset" of the system, and corrects various issues. I've had to do this a couple of times on mine .

If you lost power check the "ACC" 7.5A fuse under the dash.
