New member here, doing a complete suspension/steering rebuild on my '99 Taco Prerunner.

I am having the most difficult time acquiring the correct upper CA bushings for this truck. I have ordered and received from three different vendors purchasing name brand bushings making sure the descriptions are as correct as possible including year, make , model, trim and whether 4WD/rear wheel drive yet I get undersized bushings every time. I got the correct LCA bushings the first time out.

Never in my many years of restoring/repairing automobiles have I run into a problem like this.

I'm thinking of just buying pre-assembled CA's to get around the problem but the mystery remains over why it's so difficult to get the correct parts. Yet even then my feelings are that I'll end up getting assembled CA's that'll fit the smaller bushings I've been receiving and returning instead of the beefier ones I took out.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Kit that does both the upper and lower.

At first, you may find it difficult to find parts for your specific truck but it's really easier than you think.

You have a Prerunner, which is a 6 lug.

All parts are interchangeable between a 4x4 and a 2 wheel drive 6 lug sans front drive line parts and/or components

The model you want to exclude from your searches are the 5 lug base model (with the 2.4 liter engine). That utilizes different suspension as well as other various parts.

    Much obliged Kwikvette!

On a side note, by chance are you a 'Vette owner too? If you are, what a coincidence. I am also restomodding a '73 Vette that I've owned since '78. It's a frame off project with the frame/driveline/suspension completely rustproofed, restored and assembled. Currently working on the body trying to match panels and a new flex bumper that is way way off on how it mates up to the front clip.

    Nice!

    What engine/trim?

I've only owned 1 C3 that I was restoring but I gave up before I got too deep in it.

Sold my C6 a few months ago but still have a C5Z and C4. Had more Vettes than I care to admit :anonymous:

My 'Vette is a coupe that started out with an L82 under the hood with suspension upgrade. I have a band spank'in new 406 ci Dart alum. engine rated for 525hp on pump gas, although I will be using higher octane non ethanol based just on principle alone. Still deciding on whether or not to sell it and go for some version of LS instead. The 406 is a drop-in plug-n-play with headers that fitted right up when I test fitted the made-for-C3 Tremec 5spd. bolted up to the Dart block.

Nice to know you still have 'Vettes in the stable though.
