I moved one step closer to being a 3rd Gen owner today - and departed the ranks of the 1st Gen owners. Sold my 2004 ExtraCab TRD OR - transferred it to its 4th owner with 41,126 miles on the ODO. It's been a great truck with few issues over the 7+ years I've owned it. Still has it's original brakes. Now I'm looking forward to getting the new one - my 2020 Army Green A/T TRD Pro is scheduled for production next Wednesday.

Took this picture as I was heading off to the tag agency.

    First Toyota wasn't a p/u or Tacoma, but a 1977 Celica coupe.
Then an '81 Toyota p/u bought brand new,
1998 Tacoma I drove for almost twenty years and 399k miles,
now driving a 2018 Tacoma SR5, very nice truck ....

This image has all 3 previous tacos in it. OK maybe the maroon one isn’t technically a taco, but in my eyes its like a gen 0 tacoma. Starting off first in the top right is my dad’s truck which I learned to drive in. 85 toyota pickup 2wd 22r with a stick. Then I bought the 2009 regular cab front and center. I found TW looking up how to disable seat belt chime (when on job sites only, I always wear the belt when driving around the public). I ended up getting a color matched front bumper, hood with the sckooop, xrunner wheels/tires, and front/rear fender flares(rear not on in this pic).

Just to the left is the 09 double cab peerunner that my grandpa left to me after he passed, which I drove for a year or so. Long story short it ended up going to my Dad. And with a supercharger group buy on Tw I bought one of course and since it wouldn’t fit the 4cyl I traded in the reg cab for my 2014 4x4 I have now. The end, for now. The dealership keeps calling me to try and buy my 14 and put me in a thirdgen.. I’m not ready to give her up yet, I need to dump atleast another 5 grand in parts first.

Beware - This post is referring to a Non-Tacoma. if you have a problem with that, then please move along, nothing to see here.

    My first Toyota (pre-tacoma) pickup was a 1990 SR5 Extra cab - 5spd manual - 3.0L. Owned the truck for 7 years (96 - 2003). Oh how I miss my first luv.

06 2WD with 4 cylinder automatic. Nice truck except for the frame recall. Dealership did a good job though. IMG_20161203_115453772_HDR.jpg

Man, you sure get your panties in a twist over what people say (type). Tacoma's for pre 95 Toyota pickups, Tacos, Rims... Seems like you're easily ruffled.

Had an 87 Toyota PU then a 93, both MT (both bought used). Wish I had pictures to post but we didn't have digital cameras back then; I may have some prints laying around! Later got a used 97 Land Cruiser for the wife because I refused to get a mini van when the kids were young.

Gave the 93 PU to my father-in-law when it almost had 200k miles. He then gave it to his brother and to this day it is a farm vehicle in upstate NY (albeit missing the driver side door and front bumper!).

Put a deposit down yesterday on a 20 AG Pro MT, hoping it can get built this month! Can't wait to drive a manual again, been driving a 2006 Ridgeline for the last 13 years (bought it slightly used in 2007).

Got this, could buy parts from NAPA, much cheaper to own. Built it and wheeled the heck outa it.

Tacoma dorks in high school. Me and neighborhood friends around 2003. I'm on the far right with the 98 SR5 4 cyl. RWD ( MT - cause you gotta say it, right?)
My Dad's OR AC on the left and my SR DCSB on the right. Not pictured is my brothers 2005 SR5 4x4 4 cyl manual. This might qualify us for some sort of super dork award or something.

2001 Tacoma TRD OR was my first Taco (it replaced a 96 Wrangler Sahara TJ). I still have that truck plus a Cement TRD OR and a Cavalry Blue TRD Pro. My 01 is by far my favorite out of the 3. Just a super reliable simple truck that still looks good today.

I could be wrong, but I think I see your ‘77 driving East on Halsey by Glendoveer Golf Course almost every morning around 730. Beautiful truck and always catches my eye!

I started out with a blue 1979 Toyota 4xx4 7ft bed PU not pictured, then went to a 1982 Toy 4x4 7ft bed with tan/porche red paint, then to a 1988 burgundy Toyota1990 Trout Trip Near 10K Summit.jpg 4x4 7ft bed pu which I had for over 10 yrs, to my current 06 Tacoma 4x4 acc 6ft bed OR which I bought newredtoya.jpg .
