I was talking to one of my friends today about my wheels that I bought not fitting. He suggested that I just took one of my new wheel and tire setups to a tire shop. Has anyone done this?

I’m worried that I would look really stupid if I did this. I don’t need help in this subject lol.

What do you mean by “not fitting”? Are you stretching tires?

Sorry, clearly I’m an idiot... I bought a set of wheels and tires (33’s) already mounted from a coworker. The wheels are too thick to properly mount on my truck. I was thinking about just buying some extended lug studs, so I can mount them.
My only fear is that after I put my time and money into it that I’ll need spacers to fit them.
Again sorry. Clearly I had one too many beers when I started this topic last night

Still not enough info. Are you saying there isn’t enough thread on the lugs sticking out of the wheel, and you can’t spin the lugs on?

What type of lug nut is meant to be used with the wheel? Acorn or shank/mag.

Well, if it’s worth it to you, you get all new longer lugs and put them on. Can you try fitting on the front wheel to see if you have clearance with the UCA?

@windsorTuner nut is what the previous owner was using and gave me for them.
@CrustyComa I only have less than 1/4” thread to screw into. I couldn’t even get one started.

Absolutely. Tires are stupid so taking a guys to them is really setup and stuff. I once subjected a wheel from the guys tire and it fit but not the other one so one is good too. Send a camera of the shop. Thanks for my post.

Are you sure that his silverado had the same bolt spacing, lug size, and thread pitch as your taco? Highly doubt it would but I know nothing about Chebbys.

I know bolt pattern is the same. I’ll have to look into the other. This is the first vehicle I beverage tried doing anything to. Should’ve done more research before buying.

Take a quick look at the lug nut holes. Is there an inserted ring with a taper on each hole (for using acorn/tuner nuts), or is it flat (other than taper from acorn/tuner nuts being forced into aluminum)? You may be able to get ET (acorn lug nuts with extended shank) or mag (with correct dia and length shank).

Quick google search told me bolt pattern is the same, as you suggested, but silverado lugs are 14mm, while taco lugs are 12mm.
