Temporarily in a '19 F150 lariat with the 5.0, and i can say I'd never buy one. This thing feels loose and all over the place, not a fan of the interior or dash. I will admit that the 5.0 is nice and powerful, lots of get up at go and a whole 12/13 mpg. I need my taco back!

I get just over 14mpg in my 2nd gen. I'll blame my E rated KO2s.

Edited to add I rented a 2018 dcsb Silverado for a week and also wouldn't buy one.

I’ve driven my step fathers F-150 and I found the same thing, steering seemed loose and very light.

Haven’t driven a new Chev yet but a co-worker has one and is having all kinds of trouble with it. Something to do with the system for cutting it down to 4 cylinders, solenoids fucked up or something. I forget exactly but only 6000km on it.

Came from an F150 to the Tacoma. everything has been better especially getting rid of the 3 area code turning radius.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
You must not be able to keep your foot off the gas due to hearing a real engine. I have a 15 lariat 5.0 and the older 6 speed auto w/ an intake, exhaust, custom tune, small lift, and running 33s, while still keeping 17-18mpg.

If that's the case, something is else is off b/c there's no way it should be that horrible of mpgs.

EDIT: or I wouldn't be surprised if they put some cheap ass E-85 in there.

I was getting 21-22 in my 2.7 eco that I had previously and consistently getting 17-18 in my 5.0. Some folks are getting 26+ in the 3.0 diesel and 20+ in the 3.5 eco. Definitely not slouches in the mpg department unless being driven harder or some other factor adversely affecting something.

Prob no different than the big swing in mpgs that Tacoma, or any vehicles have when comparing similar vehicles.

well...and if you have a reset trip meter and only been doing lots of idle and only city driving, any vehicle would be shit unless it was a hybrid.

I didn't say I was idling or didn't reset the computer. Fact is it's is getting 13ish w city winter driving. Argue it if u want, but that's how shitty it is.

We have 2 of those at work we use as get around vehicles. I never check the mpg since I have a company fuel card and drive it every blue moon. It does somehow have over 200k on the odo the last time I drove it.

On one of them I literally have to open the windows and stick my head out like a dog when driving because not only does the ac not work but it blows hot air, I think even carbon monoxide as well since the first time I drove it with the windows up I thought I was getting an allergic reaction from lunch since I felt dizzy and nauseous.

The power seats also stopped working so they're frozen in place. And of course all kinds of dash lights are on and it just feels cheap inside.

We have a few rams and those were surprisingly nice, would definitely get a ram over a pos f150. The f150 are the liariat trim not sure about the ram but it was a night and day difference in quality

My impression with Fords is that they feel solid and well-put-together, but tend to develop annoying little issues over time. Just sensors and electrical bits failing too often. They do seem to last a while, but they take more maintenance to do so than a Toyota or Nissan truck might.
