Awesome setups on this thread. Been reading a little each day and I’ve bought the audio control dq 61 for my setup as well. What can y’all tell me about setting it up? My current setup is factory head unit Entune premium plus non jbl with 8” screen. I have the tweeter kicker ks upgrade. Focal 165 isc 6.5” coax fronts and rears. Infinity basslink powered sub under my seat the alpine power pack 445u and an lc2i with AccuBASS.

I’m loving the new audio in my truck as it’s by far the best I’ve ever hooked up. I’d just like to have a little more control over equalizers and the time delay seems like it’d be great as well.

One question that comes to mind first is- Can I use my rca to speaker level harnesses I’ve bought to tap into the amp inputs from the dq-61? I had to cut off the power pack rcas when I installed it into my head unit. Essentially this is what I did to hook up my lc2i so I’m hoping and figuring that it shouldn’t be an issue..
I have a few more questions off the top of my head but before I ask and sound ignorant I’ll see if maybe they get answered with how y’all set them up. Thanks in advance guys and hoping I’ll get enough on here that when it arrives tomorrow I’ll feel confident enough to install the dq 61 right away

Front speakers are Cutting in and out since installed it and removed lc2i like they’re clicking and muting when I turn it up. It is annoying af and I’m sick about it bc my system sounded great then I go messing with it more

I’ve checked polarity in speakers and moved my ground to battery. Still no change

it is playing fine at 10 and under on volume dial. If I turn it up passed that it starts cutting I’m and out and makes a click. ANY HELP be greatly appreciated. This has me so aggravated

I took the speaker level from head unit for my inputs before power pack then tapped my outputs right after the power packs output harness. The power pack is running much hotter since installing this too

Your pushing too much voltage to the power pack. The powerpack can accept up to 4 volts while the dq61 can output 7.5 volts. Turn down the gains on the dq all the way, then turn your headunit up to the volume you listen to normally. Once you have that set slowly turn the gains up on the dq till its a good level for you, then turn them down a hair.

You can also call audiocontrols tech support, its just 3 people in a office in washington, but they all have sample units of these things on their desks that they can walk you through things with.

Also, dont use the accubass, its not needed on the entune units as entune actually boosts bass for much of the volume range.

Also, the rear on the entune produces very little sound normally, so when you hook up the qd61, you want to put front channel audio into the rear input on the dq61 and rear audio into the front input on the dq, then hook up front on the amp to rear on the dq and rear on the amp to front on the dq. This lets the summing for the sub use the front audio channels instead of using the rear like it would normally.

This is one of the things I like about having the DM 810 over the dq61, I can control on the computer what channels send signal to my rear.

thanks and yeah I thought that too maybe but I’ve got EVERYTHING still set at minimum. I haven’t even tried to set it yet bc it did this as soon as I turned it on to check for the power and ground hookups

Okay so I tried moving all inputs to the 2 and 3 channels and turned the summing on and changed ground setting to 200 ohms. Still the same

hmmmm, Im going to say give audiocontrol a call, they are the experts on these and are really great people to work with.

Otherwise if you can give us some pictures of all your connections it might give a virtual tour of it to help.

I’m wondering if the harness wires that I’d originally tapped into with lc2i with posi taps are shorting out and not getting circuit through? I’ve probably screwed my harness all up doing this shit

Try hooking up only parts of the harness, single wires till you get a failure.

I mean I did use 12 gauge ofc postta wire for this and tapped them into the 16 gauge of harness... would this cause anything like I’m having?

Everything looks ok there. BTW, what I meant with the switching the inputs, you would have your orange cables plugged into the middle one, then the clear/red stripe ones plugged into input 1(front) Then you would just swap the rca cables around.

But, lets try a few things here. Unplug the subwoofer, unplug the rear on the amp, unplug the inputs except for the orange cables, put them into channel 2 (rear), also unplug your bass knob

So you should only be getting sound to the front speakers and nothing else.

It shouldnt, but its complete overkill, you could get by there with 18-20 gauge wires since your getting a very low wattage signal.

Ok so now it’s my front right speaker doing it and my left rear that’s doing it

ok, unplug the speakers that are working fine and post a picture of what inputs are not working.

    We are getting a breakthrough.

Well unfortunately I’ve gotta put everything back together and head to my sons basketball game for now. I’ll have to deal with it I guess until tonight. When I can spend another night trying to fix my shit sounding system I’ve invested in and screwed up lol
