I still like my cats, if it were up to me the little bastards could roam free and kill what ever they wanted. But the wife is loud and I got better things to listen to than her whining about all the dead rabbits in the yard.

New year update. Things are pretty much the same... legs hurt all day all the time, some days worse than others. Im moving a little faster than before, but the pain keeps me from going far.

Im looking into ways to get back to doing things with my kids. Right now I just grit my teeth and deal with the pain so they can have fun with me, but I need a better solution. Im thinking of ordering a electric conversion for my bike so I can go with them to the park this summer.

The big issue im having is I cant walk far before the pain gets too bad to move... I dont want that at all. I want to take them to the zoo and not have to worry about where the nearest bench is.

A friend of my girlfriend’s was just diagnosed with Guillain–Barré syndrome, and has been in the hospital for a couple of months now. Her symptoms sounded similar to your initial posts so I wanted to check back in here and see what ended up coming of it.

They did check for that with me, My mom has a friend with it so she kept asking the docs if that was what I have. But, west nile seems to be the culprit here... I'll be buying bug spray by the barrel this summer.

Little set back last night, I wasnt feeling great, spent a few hours laying on the couch. Woke up having a hard time breathing and having chest pain. My left side of my face was drooping real bad. My kids found me but didnt know what to do, so they just started hitting me, eventually they went and got mom. She called the neighbor who is a nurse. She saw me, and called the ambulance right away.

They are not sure what the problem was, but my white blood cell count is elevated, they think I had a blood clot somewhere as my oxygen level was pretty low, but when they started taking blood my level went instantly up to 99%.

Today I have spent the day sleeping, and watching all the tremors movies... I stopped after tremors 4 and have moved onto the dragon heart movies (I guess there are 4 of them)

I read about your situation early on and felt bad for you. Sure hate to hear you’re still going through problems as this has been going on for what seems like forever and I’m not even the man experiencing the problems so therefore I can only imagine what you and your family are going through. Hope the best for you and one day manage to get some form of relief.

Thanks for the update Erik, even if it is shitty one. Like others, I've been following your story from the beginning and I just can't even imagine. Best of luck with your recovery. Thank God for your family to support you and of course the angel girls from the dreaded day.
I'm anxiously awaiting the post where you say you are feeling much better and back playing with your kids and getting your life back to normal.
    Best of luck to you.

Got a call around dinner time from the doctors, they said I have strep. So I guess normal things people get now cause me to have trouble breathing and my face to droop... guess thats neat.

OP, so glad you are up and about......I watched each video and cringed......I can't imagine what you went thru, but I know what is like to be at 33,000 ft and lose oxygen to my make......you become hypoxic real quick and make a bee-lie to 10,000 ft really quick before you black out.....

I know this must have been a real scare for everyone.....how did your wife and family help you thru this....it must have been hell for her to see you such pain.......

    God Speed my friend

Kids are doing ok, the were crying the other night about it, but since im home they are doing better. Wife was terrified and panicked, but she did the right thing in calling the neighbor, the neighbor is much more level headed and is going to school to be a nurse... good practice for her :)

I have security cameras outfront of my house, so I got this on camera too, but after the ambulance took me away again, most of the neighbors came over to give support to my wife, the neighbor came and took my kids to her house.

West Nile is evil. There have been several stories here on the local news channels about people getting hit with the virus. It happens pretty frequently in the spring and summer in Texas with all of the mosquitos.

Deep Woods Off is in my truck year round.

Yeah, being in the great white north its pretty rare, there were 63 cases total in my whole state in 2018, about 1000 total in the past 20 years.

I have a bunch of these now around my house. As soon as we get standing water again and the temps are above 40 Im putting them back out. Then will be ordering deet by the 55 gallon drum.
