Just updating and checking in. My 17 2.7 has 35k now. Wanna get 300 k out of this truck. I change out Mobil 1 and factory filter every 5k. Warm weather here in Tampa. Concerning to me is first start of the day, or after truck sits for a couple or more hours, the oil light goes out immediately after the engine starts, then flashes back on for a fraction of a second, then off. This only happens after extended off, like oil drain back. You guys seeing this also? My truck did this practically from day one new, and other 2.7's here on the lot don't do it. Is mine wore out lol? Can't get an answer from the dealer. Thanks!

My 2.7 with 260k has done this since new. Flashes briefly when starting then goes away. Ive chocked it up as normal, i dont think you have anything to worry about

Thanks, knew I could find an answer here. I appreciate your re. My oil light goes out twice on first starts, lol. Never comes back on when running.

Hi, I always fill the filter before I install it. This way the truck has oil right from the start. Not filling the filter first, then oil pressure reached and light goes out. Just my way.

I agree, filling the filter when doing changes is always a good practice. Mine does have the light flicker for a split second after sitting over night though on initial start up like OP mentioned, I've chocked that up as normal.
