My last day is today. Season ends on Monday. Son and I had plans to go out this morning before the snow hits. Unfortunately, the stomach virus I've been fighting for a week decided it was time for round two. :crapstorm::(

Sorry you have the bug. I'm not expecting much today (warm and really windy) but whatever.

My son had it for over two weeks during his Christmas break. Three weeks off and two of it were spent in bed, instead of chasin' deers.

Had bronchitis for almost a month, didn’t catch deers with it but I tried anyway. Luckily I got some inhalers that helped me keep going.

I’ve been coughing since December 31st, the day after I sanded the Sheetrock in the bathroom I installed over Christmas. Haven’t touched it since. Need to get back on sanding and finishing that project.

I don't mind a strong breeze but that gusty crap today sucked.

I only started hunting my newest favorite spot 2 years ago (wish I had found it 20 years ago). I've never had a reason to go further east because it seems like the deer come to where I'm at anyhow, so I just stay in my general area and wait on them. But I'm curious...I think I'll go in there next weekend (or sometime this winter) and have a look around. I know it's just a big swamp and I have no intention of getting deeper in there, but I feel I need to get a picture of it in my head. Anyhow, just thinking out loud.
The dot is where I hunt, circled area is where 90% of the bucks I see come from.

And this is public land? What are all the fields?

A couple of the fields are private, I only have to skirt around one of those. This aerial is also old, a couple of those fields are recently public and are now just big thickets.

This is where we hunt, for now. It’s a 44 acre tract but only about 25-30 of it is showing, the road access is the one toward the top. I circled where we do most of our shooting. The house to the left of that, I know the guy and he’s never said anything about us shooting. He’s even text me before to make sure it was me or my wife. He doesn’t own the land we hunt. His house is way higher than the field we hunt and we do not shoot that way, ever.

From sitting in the blind I circled, 50% in front, 20% behind, 30 % your guess is as good as mine :D

I shot the 8 pt with the bow this season in the stand in the middle.

That's my plan. I really have no reason to hunt in there, where I hunt the acorns pull the does out, and you know what that means.
The day I shot that 8 pt I could hear a lot of splashing/chasing going on in that swamp; I was trying to picture in my mind what it looks like. I need to take a quick peek.
