I recently checked my power steering reservoir and the fluid was low. So i checked both boots for fluid and there seems to be some fluid on or in the passenger side boot. Should i take it to the dealer for them to look at and possibly fix if its still within warranty?

No, I'd bring it in once the warranty runs out.

3 year runs out feb 8th. Is that considered part of the power train warranty?

Fluid in the steering rack boots means the seal(s) has failed or is failing...if you're under warranty then definitely take it in.

Those boots are there to keep dirt and debris out of the rack and inner tie rods, the seals are what keeps the fluid in. If fluid is in the boots then the seals are compromised and the steering rack is on borrowed time

The power train warranty is longer. Read your books in the glove box.

What's with the "my Tacoma is falling apart" threads lately? I bet these are Nissan, Ford, jeep insiders. Everyone knows Tacomas don't break down, ever.

Checking is fine, just don't bring it in to the dealer until after the warranty is up.

Why wait until after though? Wouldnt i have to pay then? Or just wait till power train is almost up?
