Not my truck or FJ but a good friend of mine has these two units. They are pretty awesome and get a lot of attention around town.

92-ish pickup. It was my brother's and he was hard on it but he has offloaded it on me. I still need to go pick it up 560 miles away in New Mexico. Needs the engine rebuilt (I'll do that). Mice ate the wire loom under the dash along the windshield. It also needs a left CV axle and some hubs. I'd rather romp this than my new pickup.

So here’s a slow update on one of my slow builds-Roland, the 85. Springs done for now:

Roland dislikes trailers, hates moving day. Hating life, moving out to work, which include traversing 3 passes on the way out to work for the first shift out west:

commuting through the landslide zone after a new alternator and homemade front bumper during the off week:

    Future mods and maintenance:
    rebuilt long block this summer,
new Rock Ripper header and exhaust,
    GM alternator
    4” ANZO HIDs
    New grill
    a stereo!
Maybe even a trailer brake set up and new rotors-
planning to go ventilated Tacoma rotors and upsize to stock OEM Tundra steelies like on the Tacoma eventually.

One could say that if it’s not carbureted that it’s not old school, however I would think that any Tacoma would not be old school. Not hating just clarifying.
    Cheers

    Roland still rules:

Fair enough. I have to remind myself that the first gen tacos are approaching 25years old now.

I had a 74 HiLux long bed, had the second stage of the body cancer this one has. Bought it for $650.00 with 65k on the clock. Poor thing lived in Anchorage most of it’s life and that killed it. I made a couple trips up the AlCan, and put close to 65k on it myself when the frame rotted in half right ahead of the cab. It was a great rig, never stranded me, gotta love breaker point ignition. I still have the bed, and rear frame, might make a trailer out of it.
