1jz swap in 1997 toyota tacoma

Millennial anti-theft device! The only reason I have an automatic is because (A) my truck was a gift from my parents, and (B) I didn't know how to drive stick back then; I love driving stick shift!

 

I hear that but u have to remember if it's meant to get stolen is nothing u can do about it that's how I look at it

 

That's why I have full coverage on my truck!

 

Use the stock radiator that came with the 1j. That’s whats with my 2j swap.

Keep us updated on progress! I've wanted to put a 1J in something for about 15 years, but never had the time or the $$.

Are you doing an early or later production 1J? I would think the later VVTI version would be better.

 

Good buddy putting a 1jz / vvti into 87 Supra from it's original 7MGTE. Just got the 1jz from a JDM place in Texas. PM if you want any details.
