TRD wheels, Kenwood DMX906S HU, Kenwood front/rear speakers, Window tints, weather tech floor mats, aftermarket HU in factory dash skit
Recently updated the factory head unit and front/rear speakers to Kenwood..
I chose the DMX906S and i couldn’t be more satisfied

    Wireless car play
Flawless integration of factory features such as steering wheel and backup camera
idatalink integration for on screen read out of a TON of sensors
Turns out i’m getting around 19.9 MPG on my 2015 6 speed manual.

only downfall, no HDMI. other than that it’s the best HU on the market!!

I got the same HU, have you hooked up a third camera? I have the dash cam, the rear back up and also installed a front facing camera for when I'm off roading, when I leave it marked as a front camera my HU randomly switches to it without me telling it to, when I turn off that feature or when I mark it as a side camera it doesn't do that, also mine randomly resets itself, but I think it's due to ios13. It doesn't do it often but does do it. Otherwise I'm with you and it's an awesome HU. Thanks in advance.

Have one in my wifes 15 Corolla, resets every so often. Kenwood knows about it, but my guess is not too many people are complaining about it.

Have any of you added speakers and amps? The Kenwoods sound amazing when you use their built in DSP for cutoffs, slopes and time alignment. If not, you’ve only experienced half of what that unit will actually do.

I have the DDX9905S and it also resets once in a blue moon. Glad I'm not the only one, have you found any forums about this?

Your 9905S might need a firmware update.
    http://www2.jvckenwood.com/cs/ce/mm/firmware/2018/2018n/eng.html

Theres a kenwood eXcelon group on facebook, but I believe its mainly for dealers. The issue with the DMX906S "rebooting" has been brought up, but "Kenwood" hasn't been able to duplicate the issue.

Knowledgefest which is the industry's CES/SEMA is in February, I'll be sure to bring it up with their national trainer.

What's the difference between the DMX906S vs the DMX9706S??!?! I am torn between the two; I want the best one out of the two.

Well a quick comparison check on kenwoods website will give you the info in the future, but...
1 is the flagship label and the other is not
1 the excelon has hd radio and the other does not
2 the excelon has 5v preouts vs 4v
3 the excelon has 2 yr limited warranty vs 1 yr.
Depending on the price, it might be worth it or not.
    Good luck

    DMX906S has 5V preout vs the 4v of the 9706s and the 906 has a 2yr warranty vs 1yr for the 9706.

Excelon also has a gloss black finish vs the dark grey of regular kenwood.

    Basically the same unit.

anyone figure out how to change settings on the front camera? I'm trying to reverse mine to show true left-left and right-right. Also, when using apple carplay if you use the screen with half carplay map on the left and split screen with the media/music etc it defaults to apple maps every time right? like you can't show google maps or waze in the split screen option ? thanks

what camera are you running? mine had certain wires that needed to be cut if you wanted to flip/reverse/or remove guide lines.

it's a cheap one that got tossed in as an extra when I bought the head unit I think it's a BUCAM200 or something?. i'll prob end up switching it out... does ok but I prob should get something that sits a little more flush.
