    2001 Tacoma frame rusting
I have a 2001 Tacoma. I had 2 recalls for frame rail undercoating and for the spare tire. I took my truck back for both these issues. They didn't so a very good job on the undercoating. I bought the truck new and have only 53K miles on the truck. The frame rails are almost rusted thru. I called Toyota @ 1-800-331-4331. After speaking to the rep, I asked to speak to her supervisor Maria Puliti. She was very rude and kept trying to talk over me when I was talking, then kept saying, "there's nothing we can do." I asked to speak to her supervisor and stated that this is a SAFETY ISSUE. She refused to transfer me and she also refused to tell me who her supervisor was. She seemed to be on a power trip. I kept repeating that there is a known rust issue because of the recalls to no avail. She was the most rudest person I talked to. I don't get mad very often, but she pissed me off and I told her so.

15 year extended frame warranty from time of first use. Your warranty has expired.

it looks to me like the tech that sprayed that covered the drain hole where its supposed to allow for proper drainage!
    what state are you in?

the job looks possibly botched? bad application whatever of warranty, can they make a claim in this case?

I guess the people at the Quicky mart Oil change failed to tell them how bad the frame was getting.

I myself think Toyota went far above what was needed since the other manufactures were in the same boat.

Though not owning any other brands it is possible to be unaware of service offered.

All dealers are Independently owned sounds like yours was somewhat lacking.

My dealer was just great My parts manger calls and tells me when He is going on vacation admits his lackeys have a hard time with my older vehicles.

Service Manger always shared what was going on with the extended frame warranty .

Might be the thousand or so every month in parts and being on a first name basis might make a difference

Isn't the frame only warranty for 10 years?

they have no idea what the hell FF Fluid Film is here, that shows how clueless they are on proper preventative maintenance
all they told me is they could re-undercoat it with a rubbery product

your 2000 had NO extended frame warranty for replacement as far as i know?
did they spray it with anything 10 or so years ago?

I could have had it done but declined as it was a Texas truck with the life time frame warranty my life time not the truck.

I venture the Techs at my dealer would most likely never heard of Fluid Film either I never did till getting on here after repairing about 4 frames before they started buying trucks back

That rust is so bad and would have easily been visible in 2015-2016 when you still were available for a frame replacement. That's negligence on your part.
