I replaced mine between 20 and 30k. I couldn't wait to dump them. Terrible traction on every surface and I patched so many leaks in the 10 or 11 months it was ridiculous. My 255/85 km3s are noisy and a little twitchy on the highway, but superior in every other way.

I have 32k on mine, I am watching the wear bars closely but should make it to 40 k without an issue. These tires have done a lot of west Texas caliche roads, some off-road work on sandy two tracks and high speed highway miles. They have some tread block chips that I put on them early, but those chips don t seem to have effected wear at all.
In all these miles I have had 1 patch n plug put in from a screw I picked up.

For OEM tires I have found them to be decent.

I have not decided on what I will replace them with. If I found brand new takeoffs very cheap, I would run them again. I have had bfgMTS and Ats and mt Baja claws on various Tacoma’s, fashion and 4 runners when I wheeled recreationally. Probably won’t do anything wilder than the ATs as the performance compromise with most my use is too much.

I kept the original Goodyear tires about a week. The first time I used them in wet clay I thought I had highway rib tires.

Replaced them with 265-75-16 Pirelli Scorpion MTR for about 30,000 miles. I also installed hub centric 1 1/2” spacers moving thm out flush to the fenders. The pirellis did flat spot when cold (nylon radials) and were loud. Went good in mud but tended to displace too much sand in dunes.

Now I’m on a set of Toyo C/T 285-75-16 on 16x9 0 offset pro replica wheels. That moved them out flush with the fenders without spacers. The Toyos have a little noise, don’t chunk, don’t flat spot, but did cost a few mpg. They are AWESOME in snow, rocks and sand. Haven’t gotten into any nasty clay yet. I’ve had them about 35,000 miles and still have 14/32nd tread left. Only downside is they will rub on a hard flex. They have a tread similar to the tried and true Toyo M-55 commercial tire.

    I’m running a 3 and 2 leveler kit.

I upgraded from the Goodyear to BFG KO2's before I left the lot. Love them

I swapped mine immediately. I currently have Nitto Ridge Grapplers, but the Duratracs are great tires too.

The FJ cruiser trail teams (had one for the better part of a decade)used to get the bfg all terrains e rated tire.
Those lasted, longer than they should be kept in use, tough and were hard to wear out.
But very heavy, but the FJ had much better gearing for them. They were more tough ride wise than comfortable. Loved that platform, for ruggedness and get you off the mountain everytime reliability.
I like the Nitto terra grapplers that came on the trd pro 4 runners too. A bit softer and much lighter too.

having both a 4 runner and a Tacoma right now the Tacoma is being used for heavy miles, towing and work while the 4 runner is more for fun. So stock equivalents are good for the Tacoma.

When I bought my 2019 TRD Off-road new, it had Wrangler Kevlar's on. Good on the highway pulling the camper, terrible on gravel and off road, absolutely F*ing worthless in the snow. That's bad, because we get a lot of snow in Minnesota.

I just turn over 10,000 miles on it. Bought it new at Memorial Day sale. Sat on the show floor for 4 months because no one would buy a manual transmission. I normally wouldn't put that many miles on, but we took the kids to Glacier and Yellowstone. 3300 miles round trip.

I guess I’m not in the majority but I’ve been impressed with the GY. Yes at 36k they are getting slippery but I blame that on 36k not the tire. Got a takeoff set ready to go back on. Maybe it’s just the truck and it is pulling the slack IDK but I haven’t needed to do any walking lately on 700acre Tn farm.

I like my Kevlar. Quiet and grippy on the road. 10k and I’ll keep them until they wear out and prolly buy again.

Switched my Goodyear stockers out for Cooper AT3 4s at 40,000. So far so good.

I’m at 23,000 on mine and they are fine, I expect to get at least 40,000 out of them, really don’t understand all the bitching about them except for mud performance.

Still on mine. I noticed the other day they are getting a bit low on tread. I'm at 30k of 70% highway (70+mph) and 30% city. Really unsure what I'm going to replace them with but it looks like I only have about a year to figure it out.
