Pop Lock Wired Through Drivers Door

For anybody who wants there tailgate lock powered through the drivers side door instead of the passenger side door it’s the same plug in relation to the passenger side install but the wires are Black and Blue not Red and Blue like the passenger side. This took me a while to figure out and I couldn’t find it on here so I thought I’d post it for anyone else that needed to know.

I went through the drivers side so I only had to hit the unlock button once. I know this will cause it to actuate more and prolly reduce its life, that’s fine. I used the $5 Amazon actuator not the $80 pop lock brand. I don’t mind replacing a $5 part every once in a while.

 

You can also change the passenger door to unlock on the first button press

 

It will save you/someone from Carpal tunnel syndrome with that single push of button. Anyway good info.....

 

Is that a techstream process or something done through a procedure? I ask cuz both my dealers local to me want $175 minimum to touch the truck for anything with techstream.

I did mine through the passenger side simply because I hadn't taken any passenger trim off yet... LoL I've removed plenty on the driver's side for amp, sub, etc.

it's in vehicle settings on the entune head unit. you can select driver door or all doors.
