Next order of business will be a Helmholz Resonator, have a 129hz drone at 25-2700rpm. That will have to wait until the JFR Y-Pipe is installed around March if Roosters build schedule is still on track.

Thanks, I need to adjust my rear bumper a bit, gaps are all jacked. Also, the grill material I used for the Satoshi mod is breaking. I guess 2200 miles of 70-80mph on the recent road trip proved to be the limit of strength for the expanded metal (aluminum) as its breaking at any bend.

Nice and good work! I'm just waiting until the roads are clear for my wheels to go on. The only thing great about MN winters is keeping the mileage and salt off of the vehicles.

I wouldn't say the transmission is made of glass. They just don't like to be shifted fast.

    Nice project!

Thanks guys. It was a race against the weather to get it done. Started 10/14, when I picked up the new cab and finished second week of January. Frame off taco resto haha.
And yea, probably shouldn’t have said ‘made of glass’, that was purely based on what I read on the internet, so of course it’s true haha

Small update, Taco is running well. Added some bed braces, bought them raw, let them rust up a bit, than POR15'd.

Love the thread. You put a lot of hard work into that truck and it looks nice.

What is your feedback on the bed braces that you put in?

Thanks for the kind words folks.
I think my starter is going up. Ordered a rebuild kit, hopefully I can knock that out this weekend.
The braces are great. I haul a lot of street bikes and these help tie two bikes down easily. That’s the entire reason I bought them actually, I don’t trust the plastic handle thingies on a 2007.

Are they more for tie down or for handling like chassis brace? That sucks on the starter

I am starting a project, to convert my 6 lug 2014 pre-runner TRD Sport V6 automatic into an X-runner. I love the X-Runners but want one that is white and automatic (because it is a daily driver). I have started a thread on my steps through this process but like your thread it takes time. Have already bought the 06 X-Runner donor truck.. for the whole rolling chassis and moving forward. I love the 2 pictures you have on this thread with just the rolling chassis and engine.

Curious how you will make a pre-runner and X given the frame for the IFS has a bunch of metal that raises the suspension.
