Idaho BS thread in the PNW

Yeah, the change just kinda sucks. Hasn’t become unbearable yet. I’m just happy to be back to living in a rural area.

I’ll pick through and find an app for it. Got to have something to do in the hotel room while I’m at work!

 

I live in Grangeville. Idaho County. Pretty good place to live if you don’t get drug into the politics of the town!

 

Ah yes the great Prairie or should i say Gods Country.

 

Wooweeee. Drove they Lewiston. I expected an ‘aroma’, even if unpleasant. Damn. That made my eyes water. Off the list of potential future locations.

I know they’re needed. But I can’t but I home there if I’m not working there. (Looking for a retirement place)

 

Haha, my girlfriend is going to school in lewiston and some days it's not too bad but other days is really bad.

 

Yes, warned fully and thoroughly. We did dine at Rooster in Clarkston and it was fun. Then we got on the road again, headed towards Moscow. Hit the aroma bubble and it hung with us for miles.

 

We actually went down into town (the long windy-way from the lookout point), and got coffee and fuel. The scent was more than we expected, but just about actuate with what we were warned with: dirty diapers and streamed broccoli.

 

locals there are immune to the smell...I remember years ago I stopped in there for gas or something and I said why does this town stink? the cashier said something to the effect of I dont smell anything...lol she had it right. she didnt smell it! but yeah part of the reason we dont go that way much.

 

It's a funny topic when people ask where I'm from and then usually I get at least 1/5 people saying they want to move to CO, and why did I leave? It makes me shake my head, northern Idaho reminds me of CO 5-10 years ago, with a bit more snow. It's pretty nice here, not sure why people would want to move away.

 

@austin2009 I spotted you in my Valley a day or two ago I think?

 

I moved from Caldwell to Eagle in the early 90s. Traffic has become a nightmare compared to 25 years ago. Eagle used to be a nice sleepy little town, but has become crazy with overbuilding in the last 10 years. Would like to move out in the woods somewhere but the wife don't want to leave. Real Estate Taxes are increasing very quickly to cover the costs of new schools and other services. Now the state is talking about increasing the sales tax. It ain't what it used to be for sure.

 

Agreed, I would love a piece of quiet wilderness somewhere with less people. Getting to be too much for me....

 

The traffic You deal with nowadays is minor. I promise. I live/lived in two of the most popular national parks and my daily life driving is pure hell. Rental cars, mountain roads, rental RVs on mountain roads. Mud. Weather. Sightseeing instead of watching the road. 4 MILLION visitors in a population under 20k. I’ll swap places any day.

 

Possibly, where are you exactly? We were up in Sun Valley for the weekend. I remember waiving to someone just past the Airport.

Anyone near/relatively close to Couer Da lene interested in some woodworking equipment? Havent listed them yet but I have Rigid floor drill press, Delta 12" planer, Jet 10" table saw, Craftsman 10" compound miter saw, Shop fox Lathe. Not getting out of woodworking, most likely moving soon and I need to save weight/space.
