So got in a hurry on Saturday and truck wasn't all the way in park like I thought. Opened the door and it caught and "extended" the hinges. I did shut the door (Probably a mistake), but now it's rubbing fender and won't open. I am pretty sure pulling the fender off will let me open the door, but how much work am I looking at to get the fender off. I was still in a hurry so haven't spent any time looking at it yet.

Obviously getting the door open is the 1st step to making any repairs. Your problem is that the front edge of the door is too far outward or forward to be able to pivot inside the fender. You should be able to remove the bolts from the lower part of the fender, swing the fender outward slightly and open the door. It should not be necessary to remove the fender.

If you remove the door to replace the hinges, make sure you disconnect the electrical wiring 1st.

Hopefully you didn’t bend the areas that the door mounts to either door side or body side.

Yeah I am hoping it’s just hinges. Thought about pulling fender and then trying to beat hinges back with a block and big hammer. Will check it out this weekend

Door shell is probably bent. The hinges and A pillar you may have a chance that they are not bent but the door shell is the same thinner sheet metal as the door skin. If it's not to bad you may be able to loosen the hinges on the A pillar and slide the door back a bit.

Forgot all about that scene in Tommy Boy. It wasn’t that bad at least.

Well finally got around to it and got it fixed. Had to remove the fender flare and fender liner and 2 bottom fender bolts closest to door. Then once the door was open, used a come-a-long and long strap hooked to a much larger truck to "straighten" the hinges. Not perfect, but close enough and much better than a few hundred $ at a shop. Hardest part was getting the fender to line back up and not bind after we "fixed" the door. Thanks for advice earlier, if I can figure out pics I will try and post a couple of the high tech equipment / process.
