    I've been trying to decide what to use for Comms, CB/HAM/GMRS etc and it's honestly overwhelming. I dug up these old 2 Ways that someone gave me, I have a box of them. Looks like they are a little more powerful than the walkie talkies I had as a kid. Will these talk to anything else beside the basic channels I am able to flip through?

    It is what it is. No, they will not communicate beyond their basic parameters. There are ways to boost the power however the FCC may object.
