2nd gen tacoma transfer case

I was wondering if anyone on the texas fourm has done an fj transfer case swap on a tacoma? I have seen it on the fourm but I wanted to talk to someone who has experience. Thanks guys

In the process yes but havent taken the leap yet.. mainly due to the need to swap input shafts for the 6spd manual

 

I will be swapping in an FJ case and an FJ ADD tube to get rid of all the electronic actuator crap. I’m just waiting for the crawl box from Marlin Crawler to show up.

I think @BassAckwards and I have probably done enough reading about it that we might be able to help with any questions you may have.

@Tundra2Play is working on one right now in DFW, in a 1st gen tundra but it's basically the same.

 

Yeah I'm looking to get rid of all electronics on the 4x4. I'm looking to get all the parts first So if I get a transdercase from a auto fj I would also need the fj tube? I dont want a crazy crawler i just want my four wheel drive when i need it. Also I'm auto if it make a diffrence. I would also like to do the tube when i get my gears installed

Haven’t addressed the electronic side of it yet, but have swapped the case. I’m looking into getting the add ext tube from t4r, but haven’t gotten into yet. Questions/concerns?
