Denso parts lookup. Check it out when in doubt. I'm confident the part # is correct

@Muttley1 Get a small pouch of antiseize and 2 replacement nuts from auto parts store. The thread size is 8m x 1.25. Penetrating oil soak before removal of sensor. A small pair of vice grip pliers is Handy if the stud snaps off and leaves a little bit to grab for removal. Use a 8m tap to clean the hole before stud replacement. Hopefully you'll be able to remove the nuts and replace with new without problems.

    thanks all for chipping in

you are going to hate me for this but.....

contrary to advise I purchased it on ebay from a vendor, kingsofmetal, he has 4863 positives and assures me he buys them directly from denso and it comes with the gasket.

Price was $30 with postage included, the cheapest around.

He is US based and part should be here next monday.

Now, looking for advise on how to do this myself. The exchange itself involves two nuts, probably well frozen after 20 years, but most challenging is going underneath the car as my std cab is quite low. Been thinking about how to raise it a bit to do the work more comfortable.

Ramps are the way to go in lieu of full lift. Properly placed jackstsands are more work and expense. Ramps are great for oil changes too. I find ramps at garage sales often but Walmart has steel ramps cheap. You could go all in with ramps, rolling floor jack and jackstsands.

@Muttley1 On the manual trans. Sensor wire connection is easy access. The Automatic transmission sensor wire connection is in cab under shift console. Right @cruiserguy ?

On my 2000 ext cab 2.7 auto, the upstream AF sensor connector is there by the sensor and accessible outside underneath, by the sensor itself. The downstream O2 sensor connector is accessible under the passenger side trim and carpet. Only remove doorway bottom trim piece. Might've taken a lil effort or I used a long screwdriver to depress the lock tab or something so I wouldn't have to remove more carpet or seat or something to access the connector better.
