My buddy just went balls deep in a gay tiger. Looking at stealing his 1yo MPA in 6.5cm, because he drank the koolaid.

I don’t think cartridge really matters if you’re looking for general shooting in long range.
A factory load of 178 gr ELD-M in a .308 win has a .275 G7 bc at Mach 2.5 and .265 at Mach 2.0. This is VS the creed in a 147 eld-m with its .351 at similar Mach.
So once you chrono you’ll be somewhere in there even after truing into subsonic. My point for displaying the numbers is even though the creed will have all the benefits of more BC, there’s plenty in a .308 to get out to 1500y if you know what you’re doing. I only used about 23 mils of elevation to get out there last weekend.

Right on I have the Redding type S dies as well from when I was loading 308, Competition seating die too, I use the dial indicator setup to double check the seating depth. Yeah little curious fingers can make things interesting, I don’t have kids.

I’m using Hornady 162 ELD Match in the 7mm

Not bagging on .308, it’s a fantastic round... especially when it’s necked down to .264 ;)

Yeah, I’m waiting for the CYKE pod to take off so I can pick up a second hand Atlas because they are not cool anymore.

Ewww you lil rascal! I didn't even know the cool-kids have a new toy out! I love my Atlas, and would love to find a deal on another. My buddy just scored an RRS Arca rail adapter for my already outdated MPA :D
Of course that'll cost me even more, tri pod and mount :spending:

I would at least look at a Sendaro Remington 700 also if your looking for better accuracy, but somewhat of a budget scenario.

I’m using the same Harris I was given when I deployed in ‘04. One day I’ll upgrade, but it works for me till the Atlas is so last season.

I remember when ARMS became uncool for the new awesome of Larue on aaaaarf. I picked up two sets of low flip off rings and a BIUS set for $100 shipped... all new in box. I Love fanboys!

My Harris has been solid for years, only problem is, I didn't know what I was doing (not that I do now haha) when I bought it, and didn't get the version with the detents on the legs.

Notched legs just make it faster to be field expedient. Most people aren’t shooting up in high angles on their range that need immediate bipod deployment with legs out. Even if you compete I haven’t seen a overwhelming amount of ranges with stages set up as such.

I love my Harris, been used on 4 continents, I’ll never get rid of it.

That said, the mass of my 12lrp causes easy tipping now. The wider footprint will be a welcome change.

The NRL22 and KYL matches I shoot, have me using my Atlas with legs set at first pivot detent, and only having to adjust individual legs every so often (and only one click). The Harris is at it's lowest leg setting is much too high for this, or for me to shoot prone. Of course I'm fairly (if not very) slim, my buddy and shooting partner (a giant dude) starts on Atlas leg pivots with legs nearly 90° like the Harris.
All that said, I may have to get an adapter and try the Harris again, on my new rifle.

What size are you using? 6-9 with a rear bag?
I don’t have a problem with Harris height usually, it’s easy to deploy, although I would agree with those who think they are cheap and unsquared, then again I mostly use a tripod for tactical games. And hunting. And at some points in real life.

And the atlas is definitely good in that sense as well as having a 360 pivot. If it works for you, I probably wouldn’t even change it up, since it’s only a .22 and you’re not looking at maintaining any recoil management in weird positions. You should checkout evolution bipods. They are a bit of both.

I’m using a Harris 6-9 on my bolt rifles, and was using it on rifles with mags too.

Picked ups scratch and dent 9-12 that rides on my Grendel AR, gets the mag up out of the dirt.

I don’t like running with legs extended if I can help it.

Yep. Thats usually bring a tripod. Easier to build up a firing position usually.
