I am going and have been going through the same thing for a few years now. What happens is..you get a quality game you were looking forward to, kind of get into it and already have the skill, and get bored with it because either you don't 'care' about the game itself or kind of recognize you have more valuable ways to be spending free time. Some of the open world games are getting bigger and bigger...while the FPS's which I'm sure you are selective about already seem to be getting easier and shorter. There are nostalgic exceptions like Doom or Starcraft II or even Mario games. You end up collecting a bunch of great games without enough time to finish. It's normal. I've learned to only buy what I have time to play through quickly. I call it sitting on the sidelines when the new colsoles are released then seeing what games are worthwhile to justify the console.

Sometimes when I play games on too big of a TV, I get migraines or eyestrains. It's just a catch of being older, I guess. I like portable games as they don't do that.

It is hard to find the time to play, gotta be selective on what games to commit too.

I'm 37, and have played video games since I got an NES for Christmas. But the past several years I have not had any interest in gaming. I don't know what it is. One day I was playing and the next I wasn't. I popped in an old game that I enjoyed, played a couple of days and stopped. Even started a new game and stopped. Maybe I'm just getting old.

I've started Skyrim over and over at least half a dozen times. It is addicting and has it's quirks but it's so fun to play and mod on PC.

I don't think it's an age thing. I've been playing video games since I was able to talk. Now I'll be 27 this year and I have days where I'll stare at my steam library for an hour and then surf tacomaworld instead because nothing catches my attention at the time. It seems to be worse after completing a games story. Since you were immersed into that world it's hard to pick up another. Some times I buy games and then never play them because they were cheap. Like Tomb Raider, I bought for 10 bucks on a steam sale and I never even installed it. Maybe some day. It's as previously stated, comes in waves. Right now I'm really into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, even though it starts out ridiculously buggy for a big budget game.

I get the same..and im a less gaming cycle right now. Im coming home and instead of immediately heading to the man cave for the night and playing ESO or BF1 im sitting here watching Netflix and Youtube vids and just chilling in my lazyboy. this will last a month or so then ill be right back at my marathon gaming sessions.

Im 50 and i dont plan to stop playing games. I really enjoy the mental escape and the fun they bring. I fully plan on going into my retirement , if i live that long..lol, as a gamer and doing that as part of my way of entertaining myself when im retired. Hell ill probably be replaying skyrim again in 15 years when i turn 65...

I'm 33 and have been playing since around 5ish. I have Skyrim and I think I will be retired is when I will have the free time to devote to what it needs lol

I'm 38 been playing for about 30 years or so. I played WOW for about 6 years or so loved that game. It was the only game I play during that time period,I had years of playing hours. I quit because my guild broke up and raiding without a guild sucks. I bought a xbox1 about 3 years ago and then got ps4 2 years ago. I was playing some with guys for work but that didn't last long. I haven't touched either console in over a year. I have games I bought that I liked playing. I just don't feel like playing anymore. I try to get into a new game I just can't. I buy a new game play for a month or so and then just quit. I'm not sure why I just can't get into a game like I used to. I did just buy RDR2 so I'm hoping I can get into it. For me it's not just games either I don't really get into doing a lot of things I use to love doing. I'm not sure why maybe bored of doing the same things all the time.

I'm 50 now, been gaming since I was 10. I definitely feel a push toward dumping the vids and taking up another hobby, mostly because I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Some of today's games drive me crazy, either they are too complicated or they jabber on too much (RPG) or some other stupid BS. But, just when I start seriously thinking about selling all the gear, the PS+ membership delivers with a slew of new free games. Also I just purchased "Midway Arcade Treasures" vol 1 and 3 (for the PS2)... some of those old titles have awesome gameplay.

I think we're just too old for the new stuff. At least that's how I feel. Even though I have the current generation consoles I still play the casual stuff and the retro stuff available for those consoles.

Nintendo is the only console I feel can produce new games that feel 'old'. I also play a lot of PlayStation games and the new stuff (adventure/RPG) I just can't get into.

I use my Switch for RPG/Adventure games and my PS4 for shoot em games. Kind of the only two game types I play at the moment.

People always have a choice. But for some reason, it is better for many to make a tragedy out of a situation than to make a choice

My video game fatigue is already starting, lol. Sometimes i'll have like a three hour timeslot free and open randomly and in my head im like "ok ok lets get some gaming in!" But, i'll play for like an hour and become uninterested... almost like i'd rather be doing something more productive. Could just be the game i'm playing. I'm really waiting for BOTW2 to come out. I remember I took my Switch to work and played a bit on my lunch break. I couldn't get enough of that game.

Gaming fatigue comes in waves for me like most other types of fatigue. I'll be really into playing games and then just kind of stop playing them for a while. Same thing with reading. I'll read a book or two a week for a decent stretch and then not pick up a book for a month or more. Just have to do what you feel like doing when you want to do it. Don't trick yourself into feeling like you should be doing something that you don't want to be doing.

My fatigue usually sets in after Winter or between breaks in good games or when there's something good to watch instead.

As juvenile as it sounds, I do enjoy that MudRunner game, GTA is fun, Skyrim will always be my go to when I want to try some cruel and unusual shit, but for as simple as what MudRunner is, I get a kick out of getting a log hauler stuck in the woods and trying to recover it, its like watching youtube videos of old deuce and a halfs! I'm about to turn 40 and for all the years I've lost playing DAoC, WoW, all the FF games, (MMO) RPGs were always my fav games, but when FF7R came out, I WAS stoked, put it in and after 30 min I was all "Meh....", sucks being an old fart
