Hey all... I have a 2013 Trd sport auto. Never had an issue with it. Its sub freezing here, had my car washed today.

Drove the truck to the gym. When I went to leave, I let the truck idle for a minute, put it in drive, and the truck just revved like it was in neutral. Put it back in park, then back to drive, same thing. Tried it a third time, it kinda lightly clunked into drive and then took off. No issues after the while way home.

Never had an issue before. Truck only has 40k on it.

    Ideas?

Rear drums freeze after car washes some times, let it thaw, you're ok.

It’s the parking brake that froze, no? You release them but the pads are frozen?

I have on more than 1 occasion, had to put my truck in 4H to pull out of the driveway. Since the rear brakes were frozen solid. After a weekend of snow wheeling lots of water gets in there.

When you say it revved, did you not feel the truck trying to move? If you did, then more than likely your brakes were frozen. If it happens again, rock the vehicle back and forth and it will break free.
If the truck just felt like it was literally in park or neutral as you gave it gas, then yes that would be a transmission issue. the earlier years were known for coming out of the factory with under-filled transmissions. You might want to check it anyways.
