It's called common sense, which apparently you're oblivious to. Post count has nothing to do with being a "forum cop". There is a search function on forums for a reason. Better yet, a quick Google search would have the answers the OP is looking for, rather than taking the time to create a thread on here, and wait for replies.

There are only two kinds of Tacoma’s . Ones with rear lockers and ones with out. If you’re r set tripping on floor mats and badges and what have you , then perhaps a truck is not for you.

If you drive places where you can easily get stuck in a 4x4 with decent tires, you need the differential lock on the OR. It makes a huge difference in a lot of backroad situations.

    Working on it ...
I was back-and-forth on this very topic when I was looking to replace my 2nd GEN Tacoma. I thought I really wanted the off-road as the truck I was replacing was a 2002 off road.

After shopping and test driving I started to realize a few things like my last two Tacoma‘s had the locking differential and I am not sure if I’ve ever used it even one time. Then things like the off-road having the Birdseye view so you could see things all around you. I thought it was nice as my wife’s Camry has that but it wasn’t something I thought I would take a vantage of. The off road was offering things to me personally that I felt I wouldn’t be taking advantage of at this point. Same thing with crawl control. Nice, but how much would I need it.
I knew two things, I wanted to double cab and I wanted a 6 foot bed. Then I also realized I probably drive close to 2500 miles a month and don’t do near that in off road. The Sport was becoming a bit more into focus.

But what really ended up closing the deal for me was going to a dealer that had a 2019 TRD sport leftover that was optioned almost exactly to the T as I had wanted it and they took 8 grand off the MSRP and $1500 for my trade in with a cracked windshield and 213,000 miles on it.

at the end of the day, it’s your choice, so choose wisely and good luck.
