My dome light stopped working recently. Tried all the switch positions and no go. Bought a new bulb at the dealer today, but that didn't solve it. Checked the fuse, still looks good. Even tried swapping fuses, but no luck. Truck has zero mods other than snow tires. Anybody got any ideas? Next step is either replace the whole dome light module, in case it's the switch or let the dealer figure it out, which will likely cost well more than it should. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you have a multimeter? If so, try working backwards. Does the socket have power? If so, remove the dome light assembly, unplug the harness and check it for power. Work your way down the line until you find the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion. This might be the impetus for me to finally buy a multimeter and learn how to use it. I was hoping it was a common issue with a consensus solution.

Yeah I hear ya. I'm certain there's some wizard on here that has your solution. I'm not too familiar with the 3rd gens. Could be a common issue with a clear solution. Welcome to TW btw!

Both switches that operate the dome light are in the on or door position? The overhead console and at the dome light itself.

I'm an idiot! Your post prompted me to check the "map light" switch and it was off. Clicked to door-on and it solved the issue. I didn't know the map was the master switch for the central dome light. Weird logic there. Thanks! Now I don't have to buy a multimeter.
