I called them, acted like my issue is unique and said that batteries should hold a charge for a LONG time. Said (like above) that maybe my winch sat in a warehouse for a couple years. As soon as I emailed him a copy of my receipt, he shipped me a new battery. Hope that helps! He said they are still producing this winch, it is their premium best in the industry winch. He did admit that if remote doesn’t work, you are SOL on the trail.

I also asked about the possibility to wire an in-cab switch or have Warn retrofit a wired remote - he said neither is an option. Tom Sommer is the guy I talked to.

Thought he was the same guy. (Edit Actually Tom Ewing, sent him an email to see what my options are.) If that is the case I may have to buy a second remote to have it on hand in case of a failure. that sucks. Though there is another spot on the control for another cable wonder if that is for the harness.

Got the battery kit today. Was all excited to check out the battery company’s website listed on the box. It doesn’t exist?!? That’s a bit concerning???

After a bit more searching, I think this is the company http://www.gebattery.com.cn/ I wonder how old mine is, if it’s an old box with old info???

This is the actual company http://www.gebc-energy.com/en-US/ or http://www.gebc-energy.com if you can read Mandarin which I cannot.

    USA Sales Office:
Add: 627 McCormick Street, San Leandro,CA,94577,USA
    Tel: 510-562-6450
    Fax: 510-562-6408

found some different batteries with the GEI063048 part number though and the are 900mAh batteries

They do not have that battery listed as it was probably a Warn Spec that they developed it for or it is an old battery. I was also expecting a battery but no joy yet

Does it not have a wired option? My Shittybilt X20 can run wired or wireless. It was $400.....

Oh didn’t read the whole thread. That’s disappointing on Warn, they need to think these things out better if they want to continue to be considered an industry leader.

Having the same issue, remote dies super fast. You can use it instantly by plugging it in to USB, but it's not ideal. Bumping this thread to see if WARN has solved this.

I have exactly the same problem with mine, holds charge for a couple of days maybe. Have been putting it on charge whenever I head off road but a sad situation for an otherwise great winch. Have the plugin wireless option for my older Warn Zeon and it has never been flat.

Same Issue here. I'm a Jeep guy, but like one of the other posters said, this is one of the few threads on this issue. I called WARN and they're sending me a new battery, but it's backordered so it'll ship when they get some more in.

This is reason enough to get a different winch all together.

Well shoot guys, I am looking at buying one of these wireless remotes because my winch is in a nearly inaccessible space behind my grill. I suppose other option would be to plug in the wired controller permanently and mount the switch somewhere under the hood out of the way so I can easily access it when needed.

Is ANYONE having good luck with this wireless remote?

I think the only issue is the remote included with the Zeon Platinum winches. With the platinum series, there is NO option for a wired remote. All of the other add on wireless options seem to not have the same battery issues some of these have.

I have been using a Zeon platinum 12s for about 2 years now and have only found my remote dead once. But I literally charged for about 90 seconds and it lasted long enough to complete the recovery.

I have a wireless Warn winch for my work truck and it SUCKS ASS. Battery is always dead or it shows a thermometer No clue what that means. I wish there was a way to plug in a controller but the times I have spoke to Warn that isn't an option. I'm just happy I didn't pay for it and work did

Well bad news, the jerk on Facebook marketplace was incredibly unresponsive and I wasn't able to get the wireless remote when I happened to be in his town last week, now it's sold.

Good news, I am able to reach the winch from above with the hood open so I can still use my wired controller with very little inconvenience.

Well, the battery that WARN is supposed to be sending me hasn't arrived yet.

I thought I had found some replacement batteries from a hobby site for Raspberry Pi builders, but the WARN remote uses a 3-pin connector, and the only batteries I can find that are the right size/voltage for the remote have 2-pin connectors.

I've got a trip coming up, so I just bought a whole new remote, which did solve the problem, but it was $150 which is pretty ridiculous to fix this problem.

I have the Zeon 12-s and the add on Warm wireless, it eats battery in 2-3 days. I just pull the battery out when I'm not using it.
