#totaled. See if insurance will let you buy it back for cheap :p

I'm sure it's fine. Check your tires tread for small stone that may cause the clicking noise you hear.

I would no be worried about damage, I've accidentally done it, when it was one day old and had the glass (chip) repaired the glass ppl told me it was binding on them when turning into the bay and when I looked, behold, the 4hi was on. No damage still at 25+k on the clock.

If I had a lift and some big A$$ tires, maybe I'd worry a little on account of the added leverage lol!

But the switch is in a bad spot IMO.

They could have made it a slide type switch or located it to the bottom next to the ECT or just swap the location of the two. I'm sure I'll do it again while trying to turn up/down the a/c fan but I'm not loosing sleep on it.

    Cheers!

These threads really need to stop. Being worried about accidentally using 4WD on dry pavement is about as novice as it gets, and there's a few threads about it a month.

Plus, you are an absolute fool for not looking at your dashboard and seeing an indicator light that is not normally on. They make it pretty obvious that you have 4WD engaged. What if it was your oil pressure or coolant temp or tire pressure light or something? THAT would have caused damage and you would not have noticed because you didn't look down.

The knob placement and shape is a poor design. It's very easy to mistake the two. Muscle memory on the fly makes it difficult to distinguish the two.

I'm going to use a label maker on mine ha.

Note to self; do not adjust the A/C knob while turning, do look down and risk a crash while making sure its the right knob...Err...Fook it, if I hit I hit it'll hold together, I'm sure.

I miss the big lever on the floor. Even if you had to hit them with a sledgehammer sometimes to get them to move.

If that stuck 4x4 was in a electronic shift on the fly it would just not work.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
I keep poking it to start the engine .... stupid placement. I would have much preferred an actual manual shift lever for 2HI/4HI/N/4LO.

I have a one mile straight section of road near my house. Nearly every time I'm on it I engage 4Hi just to keep everything lubed up.

Most likely you are fine, but you should figure out what the clicking on takeoff is regardless. That's not normal.

OP turned his on accident by wiping down the dash, this seems like it's be even easier to snag it w a rag and inadvertently turn it.
