Hello TW in Los Angeles! I’ve recently had some noise coming from the front end when hitting any size bump in the road. Metal on metal type of noise and I can’t seem to figure out where it’s coming from. I have a 2014 4x4 Off road with a few mods.

Is there someone local near Hollywood/Beverly Hills/West Hollywood that can look over my truck ?? Mechanics or Toyota dealers are expensive and I’m looking for someone to talk trucks with that can offer some insight.

I can pay in lunch and six pack for your time ! I know it might not be “professional” and “at my own risk” but just looking for a more relaxed experience !

Can you describe the sound better? Is it grinding metal on metal or a .... Tink... Tink ... Tink on bumps?

its not grinding. Metal on metal “clunk clunk” type of noise. Like something may be loose but I can’t find it

I would suggest jacking up the front and start grabbing/pulling suspension parts such as shocks, COs, sway bar etc..to see if you locate and loose components.

If this info helps..it seems like the “clunking” is minimized or stops when I’m turning and hit any type of bump.

If this began after the lift, I would do as suggested above. Slowly lift the front in increments after pulling on the COs, etc.. each time to see if maybe the CO's, UCA's etc.. are seated/torqued properly. Even jack the front tires off the ground and grab at 12/6 o'clock to evaluate for wheel play.

Get a torque wrench on all your suspension bolts, something might not have been torqued properly.

Did this start after an alignment? Did you ever get this figured out?
