I also have the manual shift and have experienced this jerking and have to let off the gas. This lets me know the MASS AIR FLOW sensor needs cleaning. Take it out and spray it down with MAF sensor cleaner. You’re good to drive it like you want to. When it bucks again in a few months, spray it off again. Keep an eye on the air filter.
    Cheers!

It would probably surprise a lot of folks that the ECM uses different "maps" for each gear including neutral. Yes, I mean in the M/T. Yes, I know there aren't electrical switches in the RC62-F for each gear, only neutral and reverse. It's magic, I tells ya!

I've always wondered why the throttle response can be so very different when trying to rev match, depending on speed etc.

One of the things that Mat from OVtune has been working on is trying to make the throttle consistent. I can handle a delay to a certain degree, as long as it's the same every time. It's not though.

Honestly, I've never owned a brand new vehicle with a manual trans! So I didn't even think of this or know it was a thing really.

I think the closest I've come to owning a new manual trans vehicle would be a couple of previous sports cars with 20,000 miles at time of purchase.

It's hard to compalin about a brand new truck, but hey somebody gotta do it!

I do really like the truck, all jokes aside. I just got frustrated yesterday with my back killing me and I wasn't feelin the jerk jerk jerk. Today I tried using a little more ankle and little less leg to ease out the clutch in 2nd. That actually was much smoother while zipping around in traffic.

I noticed this for sure. Kind of wonky throttle response and inconsistent depending on scenario. I'm still holding out for a tune knowing that should drastically improve it. Would love for the truck to feel more connected to the throttle pedal.

Regear to stop it from bucking in 2nd gear?

    Do explain.

I think some of my frustration with trying to drive it "quick and nimble" comes from the soft, stock off road suspension. Lots of brake dive and some slight see-saw motion between gears (shifting between low, torquey gears).

I'm just being picky really. I like the idea of digressive shocks because the little bit I've read seems as if they would be firm on the street, but soften up if you hit something rough on road or off road... with the way they soften up with higher velocity hits. Still learning, though.

2500 miles now and noticed the 1-2 shift is less herky jerky. It's easier to make it smoother now so maybe everything is breaking in. Or maybe I just got better at it. Or maybe both. Either way, I'm happy.

I to was having a hard time from 1st to second when I first had my truck, always jerked on me. Almost started to get a little discouraged, but now at 50000km I have no problems at all I think the truck drives great. Maybe I figured it out, maybe it broke in, anyways I’m happy with it now. I think you to will figure it out and end up loving it update or not.

First gear is super friggin' short on these trucks and 2nd is damn near half the ratio of 1st. Adding in the hanging revs for whatever godforsaken reason (it's emissions) and it's super easy to make the shift to second before the RPMs have actually dropped enough. I feel like I have to force myself to be slow because unless you're shifting north of 3.5k, it'll be jerky.

1-2 quick shift smoothly is nigh impossible. The difference between the ratios is too large and the revs move waay too slow. It probably has enough to power through the rear-ends traction if you redlined 1st and kept the gas buried going into 2nd but even then you'll probably get wheel hop.
