Anyone sporting Bestop's version 2? Looks better with the vinyl sides. Channel system seems much better for closing it up. It also has the built in storage flaps.

If you prep and seal everything up (bedcaps, tailgate, those gaps at the front bed corners, seam seal the topper) it stays fairly dry inside. It's been a pretty rainy season in Northern California and i've had just minor dripping during our heaviest storms.

Sealing everything has also kept the dust pretty minimal when offroading.

Mine stays pretty dry in the heavy rain after seam sealing the topper. Each topper is different. My buddy has the same one as me and he didn't even have to seam seal his at all and it stays bone dry.

How did you seal up the gaps by the cab? That's the only place water slowly drips in for me. I tried silicone in the gaps but there's gotta be a better way...

I live in the Pacific Northwest (I park outside) and am not super impressed with how it's held up in the heavy rains we've had this winter. Water definitely drips in and wicks from the straps. I noticed it also gets pretty moist around the snaps that go around the metal bars. When driving in the rain it does seem to stay pretty dry, though.

That being said, it leaks about as much as my poorly sealed hard top on my old frontier.

I'll probably reseal it when the rains hold up long enough for me to pull it off dry and see how it performs after that.

The curved bar attaches directly to the mounting bars on the bed caps. So the curved bar sits right on top of the tailgate. You can’t tell it’s curved just by looking at the rear panel. I’ll grab a pic later for ya!

Also, if you cut between the Velcro and canvas on the inside of the flap (carefully with an exacto razor) you can slide earth magnet strips in it (6 of them) and stitch them in separate areas and then the soft Velcro is the only thing touching the tailgate. Start at the end and push the magnets down between the layers with a paint stirring stick or something skinny. Took a total of an hour (depending on your stitching skills)

Works like a dream and has been for years

My thumb is right above the magnet inside the layers in this pic.

Access cab / double cab wont matter just get correct bed length. I just ordered the old model bestop to try out. Was in Amazon warehouse deals like new for $400. Going to be fun trying to install before return window is up....Might need to find access to a garage (mine is a gym) so I can have the canvas / plastic windows warm to zip them in.

The reason I want to see it on a access cab is because thats what i own. I don't want to see it on a double cab. Obviously access cab means long bed soft top

Oh thought you were asking if it would fit. Cab shape is the same though according to part numbers for hard tops. If your looking just for pics, google it and pics from here will show up.

Just curious...how fast do you all drive on a highway with your softopper and do you drive slower in higher winds?

I find myself at speeds of 65-70mph normally on highways and on windy days 60-65mph.

I had a mishap with my topper and semi trust it....
