Has anyone ever opened up a headlight switch before? I have a 2018 SR TSS with pre wired fogs but no fogs ..I bought oem fogs, relay, harness and switch , but I don’t want to remove the steering wheel and clock spring to do so..the switch appears that I can just unscrew the back and replace the stalk and board. That would be easier then option 1

Why would you compromise the internals? Removing the covers to the steering wheel and opening the switch to replace the internals of the switch you need seems overwork.
There are a few How-to's in removing the airbag correctly and then the stalks, that way you have a working stalk removed (as spare or to sell) and you achieve what you want.
I can tell you that most vehicle parts, especially electrical ones where not meant to be disassemble and reassemble, finicky tabs that break easily. :burp:
