Just ran out to the truck to grab a bottle of water. It had been parked for at least 6 hours.
while getting the water out of the bed noticed a buzzing sound. leaned down and stuck my head in the drivers side wheel well. Sound was louder and clearly coming from under truck.
I hopped in the truck started it and let it Idle a few minutes. Turned it back off got out and observed sound was gone. Sounded an awful lot like a fuel pump. whatever it was it should not have been running 6+ hours after the truck was shut off!
2019 TRD Sport double cab long bed about 14,000 miles on it. Anyone else seen this issue? Other than a one time radar cruise issue when I first got the truck its been problem free.

It is a pump used to remove vapour from the tank and put them into the charcoal filters for emissions. It is normal.

It's normal. It keeps the fuel system primed so it starts easily

EDIT: What speedfreak said. I forgot there's all that emissions stuff on the new trucks. My 07 doesn't have any of that haha

Ok, thanks for the quick reply's. The fact I parked over 6 hours ago is what spooked me. also the fact I hadn't heard it before. However I usually keep the tank topped of. this is the first time Ive parked it at a quarter tank so what you are saying makes sense.

Freaked me out the first time too. But instead of making a new thread I searched and found it was normal. If you need help searching just ask.

Just curious on a 2014 Tacoma Sport, would it also have that same fuel pump noise? How long does it run? I have had similar noise on my
2014, but I could never figure it out. Have heard the noise 3 or 4 times in the 8 months I have had the truck. I would start the truck
    and the noise quits

    Thanks for your help!

My old 2005 Corolla had the system, so an educated guess would tell me your 2014 Tacoma may have it too.

I mean I don't have the vapor purge pump or the secondary air intake thing like the 2012. Mine still has the stock cats and 02 sensors. I've spent 10 plus hours working on my truck after shutting it off and never heard a peep out of it, but my parents vehicles and my brothers Corolla do have the same noise.
