That truck will do wonders on Disneyland offroading trails (Moab, Canyonlands, etc.), but I’d like to see it in remote places. Until one can strap in extra batteries as we do fuel cans, I wouldn’t own one.

I wonder how long a charge would take on a Honda 110 generator?

Or one could get someone with a Tacoma to charge it with the accessory plug...

I said 300-400 mile range, [comma], and comparable towing range as we know now. Look before you sharp shoot.

Don't bring money into this. Your cyber truck will cost anywhere from $5-30k more than my Tacoma, depending on what version you get. For that money, I'll buy 1,666-10,000 gallons of gas at $3 per gallon. Which, at my current average, will get me 31,666 to 190,000 miles down the road - before you even charge your truck for the first time.

And for what it's worth, having doubts is different than criticizing something. I just have my doubts about how much range it will have towing 7000 lbs.

What amazes me is a simple BEV can toast any gas car out there 0-60.
Here you have a loud roaring 8 cylinder gas guzzler heat generator, and a Tesla does 0-60 in 2.1 or possibly 1.9.

Working on an ICE vehicle with coolant, exhaust, fuel delivery etc etc etc. Lot of work and money. Times are changing.

I’d take 0-60 in 4.2 for double the towing range.

But to be honest for comparison, I only got about 165 miles of range the last time I towed big and heavy with my Taco. But that was hill country and 70+ on the flats.

Technology will change in time that I am sure.
They are making 18 wheelers electric now.

Also lots of moving parts. I think EV's are awesome, but I am also holding out for the range and charging tech to advance. And they don't make financial sense for me either since my Taco is just a toy. I have been watching the Rivian R1T for a while now, that would be my choice. My friend was a lifelong Chevrolet Camaro/tuned and modded Duramax guy. He just got a P90D and can't stop grinning

Engineering Explained has a great video about the carbon emissions of both ICE and EV's, I just can't find it right now.

Edit: most EV's have coolant also. The Nissan Leaf is air cooled, though. Our Prius has 2 coolant systems; one for the ICE side and one for the EV side.

There is also a great video from 1320 that shows a P100D destroying fire breathing muscle cars over and over on the street.

    P90D pulls over 1G acceleration.
I don't think he is grinning, it's probably the g's pulling his face back.

A couple of years ago we were coming home from Utah's vacay. We met a Tesla going the same direction just outside of SLC and were measuring dicks till Boise on I84.speeds 80 to 100 and there is literally nothing there. That guy must have a larger battery to cover the distance and the speed..it was impressive.

Around town or in any city where there are houses, people with electric vehicles charge at home most of the time, not the local charging stations.
For long trips on freeways and highways, it’s not too difficult to have dozens of parking spots with chargers all side by side. You don’t have that with gas pumps where you have to pull in end to end.

And, I’d say it might be easier to add electric chargers than it is to add extra gas pumps and below grade fuel tanks.

    The future is looking bright.

    A few.
Latest news/speculation on the next gen tundra is 500hp 30mpg with a hybrid electric motor placed somewhere in between the transaxle and differential as one of the powertrains.
