Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

At first I was actually quietly on your side. You seemed to have legitimate complaints and I’m sure the company has taken your concerns into consideration for future benefits to others. Despite going about it in a mocking and aggressive way you definitely got his attention which seemed to be what you were after. All this said now that he seems to have said that he addressed your situation (I’m assuming) let the past be what it is and start offering constructive input. Heck even I complained before a little but eventually warmed up though my complaints were the cost factor due to my lack of knowledge.

Just remember we’re all customers here or possibly potential customers. If given the time Away from tuning and development I’m sure he’d like to add some updated information on his sight. Take the time to read only his posts by using the arrows in the comment section and you’ll see he’s a very technical ‘nerdy’ type of guy. Not meaning this offensive in any way but he’s the behind the scenes type of guy trying to run a small business as the upfront desk guy also. Possibly not his strongest point on the customer service and fancy website but it works for what he needs. Maybe one day he’ll have time to spend and make his site slightly more informative to the needs of all consumers knowledgeable and the lesser experienced.

Seriously though, check out his posts over the course of this thread. You’ll see and understand he’s actually grown a great deal on many upfront things and not just the behind the scenes stuff. It’s quite interesting to read for the most part and you’ll get a better feel for some of the stuff he’s went through customer wise and his frustrations as well as customer frustrations.


Edit - you’ll also get to see that he’s Korean! . That one was funny.

 

OvTune, once he realized I had what I felt was a legitimate concern immediately remedied the situation and I thanked him profusely for it. That part was awesome.

Then every mouth breathing sycophant from miles around came in to White Knight so I figured I'd have a little fun.

 

Don’t pay much attention to the babbling around here. You paid and this is where you learned about the product so you have every right to complain here if no response through main channels. Sometimes the consumer forgets he uses the forum for sales and support although he’d prefer to handle through zendesk for many reasons. Once people here find something they don’t like they just tag team and nag and nag and nag. It’s obvious throughout every section I’ve visited here on the forum and I don’t let it bother nor do I fuel it further.

Now let’s enjoy the anticipation of upcoming insanity whenever he releases the next update and enjoy our Sunday before Monday work week!

 

People who are not software developers will never get it. I remember about a dozen years ago when I was in a programming class. This one guy showed up in a Ferrari to class. One day I asked him what he did. He basically bought advertising space on porn sights and relisted to other clients and made insane money. But he was getting pissed at his software devs because it was taking too long and wanted to see why. After the 3rd week I didn't see him again. lol - programming is hard shit. You can have all kinds of unforeseen circumstances occur with one simple change. Its like squeezing a balloon. You might fix one area but another area is blowing up.

 

I spoke on this earlier but , I was wondering if anyone has had to re flash their truck. While I thought the throttle response had improved and that was about it, it now feels like stock again. Anyone else experience this?

 

No I haven’t experienced this myself. I will state that I detailed my truck yesterday and had to remove my seats. Whenever I do that I disconnect the Negative on the battery. Truck seemed different on the drive home that’s for sure but seemed to level itself back to normal. Could have just been me but sure seemed different for a minimal amount of time.

Keep in mind that I am one of the lucky ones that has a Tacoma that works good stock and it is all stock. (Flame Retardant )
I drive my truck aggressively stoplight to stoplight and around town. I use ECT and S Mode a lot. On the highway, I mostly use Adaptive Cruise Control.
So, I don't need to know what it fixes. I am interested in the difference in Performance, Shift Points and MPG.

For AT 2.0 Final:
(Normal) How will this compare to stock?
(Performance) How will this Compare to Normal?
(Towing) Other than no Atkinson, What else?
(Gear Locking) Can you switch to S Mode (Gear Locking) from (Normal) at any speed? What will happen if Yes or No?

If you are not 99% certain, please don't answer. Maybe only Mat can answer this with certainty.

 

Im 99% certain this is a copy and paste post from a couple days ago. Have you went to ovtuned.com yet? I think all your questions are there in detail. Very deep detail. It’ll make your head spin

Also has anyone performed A-B comparisons from stock to tuned, 0 to 60 MPH and 1/4-Mile Times & MPH?
I know Tacomas are not race cars, but it is a good reference for the performance gain from The Tune (which is all that I am after).

 

I went to Google and typed “OVTune Tacoma 0-60”. Come on man. The questions your asking are very easy to find but it’s just too much for people to re-post over and over. Do I little searching.
