Can anyone tell me how difficult it would be to install in my 06 truck to replace the original radio.
Add say it came out of a 16 tacoma
    Thanks

The JBL and non-JBL systems are very different. And the 3rd gen radios have WAY more integration to the trucks data network.

if you wanted to gut an entire 3rd gent JBL system (amp, wiring, etc) and transfer it, you could probably get audio to play. But that would be about it. No backup cam, no steering wheel controls, no aux/USB input, no nav, nothing.

WAY better off just dropping $300-$400 on a mid-tier aftermarket pioneer or Kenwood

That would be quite a challenge even if you had all the components. Like others have said, go aftermarket & save the headache.

Easier and probably cheaper to buy an aftermarket stereo.
