Alignment differences primarily, but there are lots of quirks with these trucks that aren't consistent. Taco lean, vibes, other randomness.

Speaking of Taco lean. Is this still a problem on the 3rd gens?

    Nice.

That's the look I've got in mind.

I just don't want to throw gas mileage completely out the window.

Mine went down for sure, but not to to significant. Was around 9-10L/100km on stockers and then dropped to around 11-12L/100km. I may lift a little bit down the road but hard to say, probably wait till a shock starts leaking or some excuse to do it.

Odds are the caster is too low on the ones that rub.

I’m also on Replika wheels not actual Toyota wheels and the offset is a little different, which could be the cause of my rub.

And does anybody know the exact offset on the TRD 4 Runner wheels????

My OCD is making me do the math so I know EXACTLY how much difference the stance will be.

    LOL

I believe the Toyota TRD wheels are +4mm offset 17x7

The ones I’m running are +5mm and 17x8 so that may have caused my rubbing.

This site gives you a good visual of the difference. Edit,

Stock Sport wheels are +30mm offset and 17x7.5

Depends on where the rub is. I was referring to the mudflap issue being discussed. Offset is much more likely to affect frame, wheel well & uca type rubbing.

    Thanks bud.

    Sport: 7-1/2” wheel with a +30mm offset.
    4 Runner: 7” wheel with a +4mm offset.

That’s EXACTLY what I was looking for!

Okay, okay. Check my numbers here cause I was drinking a beer while trying to think!

It looks like the 4 Runner wheels stick out further than the Sports by about 3/4".

I'm surprised they put a narrower rim on the 4 Runner too.
